Spiderman 2 still remains the best spidey game in my book. The Amazing Spiderman is good and all, but nothing compares to this. So many memories with this.
I remember one time, I have no idea what I did to this day. I built up some speed by power running (or whatever), then I started to webswing. I swang my way over to the bridge where it says "area unavailable", and usually drops you into the water. I went under that bridge, and I guess I hit the water right as I hit the invisible wall, because after the cutscene of getting out of the water, everything looked much different. It looked like the game wasn't finished. Trees were two-dimensional, and the buildings looked barely textured. I could walk around the streets, but there weren't any cars. I remember that I started to get confused as I couldn't recognize where I was or seem to get my bearings. I opened the map of New York, but no Spidey icon. After a long time of being confused, I found the bridge and saw New York on the other side. No matter what I tried to do, I couldn't get back over to New York. The invisible walls were still there, but the "Area unavailable" text never came back. When I fell into the water too any times to count, it would always respawn me out of bounds. I reset my game, which was hard for me, because my Gamecube didn't have a memory card, so I only ever played Spider-Man 2 with the "continue without saving" function, and I had gotten pretty far in. To this day I can not seem to recreate what happened, and if any one else has experienced it, please let me know how you did it and if it was repeatable.
don't get me wrong I loved ultimate spider-man as well. I just had more memories with spider-man 2. I remember the game first being announced on game informer.
There was a glitchy way to kill that annoying balloon boy, pizza costumers, etc. I used to do it when some kind of robots spawned nearby them. By standing between the victims and those robots and then dodging their rockets. Once the victims died I remember their chest totally glitched out and twisted.
You can also play as Peter Parker outside if you start a challenge, glitch inside the daily bugle by running and charge jumping into the corner of the wall that you enter into. When you enter, go to the pause menu and exit the challenge and select yes afterwards. Voila! You're out as Peter!
I always enjoyed rescuing civilians and then deliberately diving head first into the river and ending the mission. Spidey was a damn nuisance in my game.

I did a glitch where if you were hit by an enemy with a knife when you hang an enemy from a stop light, the enemy you web up ragdoll and is attached to your foot by a web and you can smack them into buildings
I used to play this game on my xbox. When I finished it, I created a new file. Then I finished it again, and created a new file. This happened 5 times. Still my favorite game although the new "Amazing Spider Man" Games have awesome grafics.
To do the cartwheel glitch, start a race Lon the railway then wait for the train and after it has hit you once, hold L (on GameCube) and get hit again. I just saved you three weeks of your life. Thank me when youre dead.
Does anyone know if it's possible to cross that bridge that says "area unavailable"? I never truly beat 100% of the game because I got stuck on that final boss challenge where you fight them all and was wondering would it unlock after you beat the whole game in its entirety please answer

That’s true honestly because you can swing so much faster in this game to the point it’s uncontrollable if you max out the speed and the ps2,Xbox and GameCube has no issue’s with loading unless your disc is scratched up.
I just played his on my crappy old ps2 witch has disc reading problems, witch caused some buildings to disappear in front of me. I fell trough the graphics and sinked lol
@TheBubbypower It is actually possible for your body to move or spasm when your dead. I don't know the science behind it but it can happen. haha funny huh.
I wish I could play this game again. I still have my original Xbox. But when ever I try to play this game. I can't seem to get Spidey to stop shooting web lines. I have to be on the ground or on a building for him to stop. I can't just land some where. Making it impossible to land on a speeding car.
