I made a CGI short film for #helldivers2. A tribute to the game Helldivers 2 , Arrowhead Game Studios, and its community. Made with #ue5 Spill oil. Spill it all.
@@jacksonclune3166 yea I caught it right after I saw the robo leg, then the hand, like the servi hand even taps like a person would when there about to get into the shit!!
So everybody noticed the 500kg strat on one side on the helmet, but if you look close, on the other side of the helmet it appears to say "NOT TODAY" as well. The detail is absolutely absurd in this!
He’s good at UE5, sure, but there’s no establishing shot, no wides, and that makes it hard to understand what’s going on if you haven’t played the game. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a super cool animation and as someone trying to do exactly what he’s doing I understand how insanely hard this is to do. (which actually might be why there’s no wide shots lol) but look at the drop sequence in the game, you go from a push in from the map to the viewing window as the pods drop, then we cut to a wide establishing shot of the ship dropping the pods. Then to a wide tracking shot of the pods dropping with planets and ringed moons and gorgeous nebulae filling the background with ships whizzing past the midground. trails streaming out of the back of the pods. Then we start a slow pan down to see fluffy clouds sitting in the atmosphere shrouding the planet as we descend into them. all wide shots. Homie just needs one or two though lol
The more i watch it, the more i want a helldivers cinematic movie to come out. This is very high quality stuff for such a game that was so small and yet rose up so much that it was never expected to grow further. So glad this community is big now!
Ok so yes, the animation is amazing as people have mentioned, but can we spare a moment for the voice acting? That I know personally is hard as hell and you've absolutely nailed it here. Something I don't see mentioned nearly as much as it deserves
What the hell is this. The direction, style, lighting, animation, sound, and everything else is simply amazing AND THE ATTENTION TO THE DETAIL WITH THE 500 KG BOMB CODE!?!? This is the best thing since sliced bread and democracy
This is by far the best Helldivers 2 animation that I have ever borne witness to. I hope that this project becomes bigger and eventually turns into the next “Astartes: But Helldivers 2 edition.”
I saw this on reddit and thought, "this has to be the guy who did Astartes" but the fact that it's not is genuinely more impressive. What a level of quality to emulate and achieve. So high, IT DESERVES TO BE IN 4K BROTHERRR MY TV NEEDS YOUR NEXT CONTENT TO BE UPLOADED IN 4K PLEASE AND THANK YOU, sir.
@@C4IK Don't bother with warhammer. The people who own it are asshats and claim everything for themselves. The lore and game and board is great but the owners of warhammer are absolute garbage.
This is the shit I love most about both Troopers and Divers, is that, beneath the wholesale satire, fun times and laughs had, deep down, this shit is a terrifying delve into a whole different, bloodier kind of cyberpunk dystopia where you miss even the comforts of the meat grinder you're shoved into being your own city. Instead, it's traded for dying in the dark, waist deep in bots, bugs, and bodies of your squad. All the same, it's a hell we've made ourselves that we dive into.
I love the fact you brought in the "silence" of outer space, as in real life there's no sound, but you brought it as the "calm before the storm" as the pod enter the atmosphere of the infernal planet...Chills!!!! Love it and now I want decals for our helmets and guns!!!
I've watched at least 10 times and still get goosebumps. Everything from the visuals to the sound is perfection. Giving me that Halo ODST short film vibes and extremely polished production. Can't wait for more!
This totally brings back memories of Astartes!!! Which was the most epic fan made video I’ve ever seen. This seems to have the same level of fidelity as that!! Hats off
Man, it's not often I get to be around to see the video that puts a channel on the map like this. Seriously, make more of these if it's your passion. I'd LOVE an Astartes-style series based on Helldivers. You've got my subscription.
I got chills at the end! I really loved the attention to detail, like the prosthetics and the arrows on the back of the helmet! It kinda reminds me of how US soldiers used to decorate their helmets in WWII or Vietnam with chalk or things like playing cards!
This I quite literally THE best Helldivers animation I’ve ever seen! This is a level of animation and detail that rivals the Best of Warhammer Fan animations. Fantastic job!!!❤
This...this inspires me to survive all my drops as a lone helldiver. Like you can feel the atmosphere, as you land...you have a duty to preserve democracy one bug and automiton at a time. Chills helldivers...this sent chills down my spine.
A veteran Helldiver would be terrifying. The longest I’ve kept a diver alive was two extreme campaigns with my friends. The next game was with randoms and I walked into a stratagem on accident.
Hell yeah, this came out excellent! I appreciate the attention to detail, particularly all the scratches, dents, and personal markings on the diver's armor.
BRO I BOOTED UP THE GAME AND AT THE TITLE DROP I JUST HEAR "Prosperity, Liberty, Our way of life" and then he just RIPS OUT SOME SHOTS and it fit so well.
Wow, I was imagining what a cinematic would look like JUST LIKE THIS! The pods being launched in space followed by complete silence of the vacuum, followed by the flames catching up and bursting out as the atmosphere gets denser. Great work!
This looks, feels and is insane. Incredible work KC!! Love the Warhammer esc vibe to it and that camera movement at the end following his hand while chambering was just incredible 😩 The fact you're so active with your community really speaks volumes too!
this is definitely a good opening for a movie, i could see it winding back time to when the helldiver was first recruited, up till now where he has miraculously survived all of his deployments. kinda like All Quite on the Western Front where the helldiver hollows out with time, watching all of his friends come and go, some surviving for more than one mission but eventually dying like the rest. at the end, when the protagonist eventually dies in a blaze of glory, his name isnt even remembered, his achievements forgotten immediately by super earth, finally showing his replacement dropping down from the sky, really showing that every helldiver is expendable and their individual names wont be remembered. i think it would be a good contrast to the goofy and satirical nature of the helldivers lore, showing the dark side of the helldivers program while super earth covers it all up
Funny you said this, I have in fact been thinking about prequels :) all quiet on the western front is a good reference. Anti war is something I’d love to explore. Thanks for those ideas!
I really hope this gets noticed by the devs and they add this helmet/armor set to the game. Or they should just give only you the armor. Even more fittin
1:11 literally the reason I'll always carry Jar-5 Dominator with me. Feels like bolter, sounds like bolter, roughly leaves as huge holes into enemies as bolter... my fav primary
This is amazing! Just randomly dropped by in my recommended and I can't begin to describe how thankful I am that it did. You deserve all the views you can get. I will be watching your career with great interest.
Why are there no comments here? why? This is too awesome to remain commentless, this is nearly astartes level quality and it has a far less chance to get messed up by lawyers.
FOR THE EMPER... I mean FOR SUPER EARTH! (Amazing video, I want more) But for real, the crossover with Warhammer 40k is very much there, especially by taking this dark (and grim) approach of the game. I love it.
I'd say it's the same as when you finish a mission within the operation and extract, starting the next mission in the operation. Even in game your character model stays bloody, cape destroyed. You play as the same diver until death.
