I've had no problems with my EEW 6.0. Thanks, however, for keeping us up to date with all the potential problems we might face. I spin for most of the day and into the night, on a rather constant basis. The only issue I've faced in using the EEW 6 is really not about the spinner but about my forgetfulness. While the little platform, next to the orifice, for resting your spinning during a break is a great idea, the spinner runs so seamlessly, that I forget I've put my yarn on that little platform and restart my spin while it's still hanging there...duh! The results haven't been too tragic since I immediately recognize something's wrong and the most I can complain of is a whiff of "burning rubber" odor that comes from the drive band spinning around aimlessly while my yarn is stuck in the slot. Otherwise, I find my spinning experience running along swimmingly. My production has definitely kicked up a notch or two and I'm starting to find a need to slow down long enough to finish the yarns after they're plied. I'm filling bobbins of singles at record speed and holy moly, I LOVE the EEW 6.0. I still use my EEW 4 for plying, mainly because I have tons of bobbins for it and because I can ply and spin singles at the same time. I worked out a pretty effective method of auto-plying with the EEW 4. Altogether, you've once again made me one happy camper/spinner with your wonder works. Thanks, Maurice.

The screws! That's such a precise issue. Must have been hard to find. Good job!

I was wondering what size is the hex wrench for the pulley? I’m just waiting for my parts pack to come and wanted to add washers to the screws while I was waiting.

I love your transparency through this process! That's really the main reason I've decided to make the EEW 6 my first spinning wheel, I'm just so impressed with the volume of information you put out and how personal you are with people who ask you questions. Around 6 minutes in you say EEW 6 sent out here forward will have the screw issue fixed, are you also going to make some sort of change to the wheels such that the spindles are grounded before they are even shipped? Did I understand that right?
@DreamingRobotsBlog
@DreamingRobotsBlog 3 года назад
Those are the changes I plan to make (plus a very minor software update), but I haven't started shipping those yet. I'm still finalizing those fixes and then I need to hire a contractor to come to my warehouse and do the fixes here. I'm hoping I'll start shipping the updated ones in 1-2 weeks, but that is an estimate. Also if people want once I have the final fixes determined I can send out kits (jumper wire, conductive tape, and new motor screws). But again I'm not ready to do any of this yet. I want to get the process perfected and then I need to hire someone to implement the fixes.

Great video Maurice! Are the drive belts supposed to be hard to put on? Do I need to pre stretch them?
@DreamingRobotsBlog
@DreamingRobotsBlog 3 года назад
Yes, the ones that come with it are a little hard to put on. You don't need to pre-stretch them, but you can if you are having trouble getting them on.

Maurice, do you expect to have replacement motors available for purchase on your website in the future?
@DreamingRobotsBlog
@DreamingRobotsBlog 3 года назад
I'm undecided. A few people have asked for them and I can sell them to people who really want one. But in general they last so long that mot people who buy one won't ever use the spare so it ends up getting wasted. I will carry spares for a long time so if anyone has issues they will be able to get one from me. Also the motors are pretty expensive so if I did put them on my page they would probably cost $40 to $50.

@@DreamingRobotsBlog If you don't sell them, I like to have back ups of everything, would replacement motors be something we could find elsewhere?
@DreamingRobotsBlog
@DreamingRobotsBlog 3 года назад
@@rachaelbradley4552 These motors are custom made and not something easily purchased. If you really want a spare you can contact me on dreamingrobots.com and I can sell one even if I decided not to put them on the store.

Maurice - as someone who relies on subtitles, could I just let you know that the ones that come up with this video don't seem to bear much resemblance to what you're saying? I don't know if there's anything you can do about that your end. Apart from that, interesting and useful video - as always. Thanks.
@DreamingRobotsBlog

I agree these subtitles are terrible. I've looked at past auto generated subtitles and they are much better. I have no idea why these are so bad. I did a similar processing on the audio. I'm wondering if google will go back and make a better version of these later? If someone wants to type out everything I said, it looks like I can have it automatch text to my talking so I think it doesn't need any timestamping. I can do subtitles for some videos, but I just don't want to take the time to do it for all of them. That said if someone wants to help with that I'd be happy to work with them on it. There are services that do this so maybe I'll look into that one day.

@@DreamingRobotsBlog When I looked earlier, the automatic info suggested that the text was in Vietnamese - is there, perhaps, a setting that could be adjusted your end?
@DreamingRobotsBlog
@DreamingRobotsBlog 3 года назад
@@somebodyelse138 When I go look at all my other videos there is an automatic translation there for the videos. On this one there is no automatic translation stored for Google so I think they are just trying to do their best on the fly which is why the translation is so bad. I have certainly set my language as English, but I have no control over if they do one of their better machine learning translations. Hopefully they will generate one for this video soon. I'm not sure if there is always a delay or if they had some issue with just this video.
@somebodyelse138
@somebodyelse138 3 года назад
@@DreamingRobotsBlog Thanks for taking the time to find out. I have to admit, that I've not noticed a delay in subtitles going up in the past, but it's not that often that I come across a new video within hours of it being uploaded. In this case, it's not even as though your speech is different from other videos, or that you're using more technical language than usual, but even more, it's odd that the auto wotsit is saying it's providing subtitles for Vietnamese, but it's still mostly providing English words - even if they're not even close to what you're saying. Chalk it up to one of the vagaries of relying on AI, I suppose.
@DreamingRobotsBlog
@DreamingRobotsBlog 3 года назад
@@somebodyelse138 As far as I can tell there is not. I clearly have my subtitles marked as English and I did some searching but didn't find anything there either.

While I think it is technically better to do that, I don't do it and we didn't do it in our testing so when I say how long they last that assumes you leave them on.
