My husband and I realized after being married for several years that we had both been at the same Spin Doctors concert in 1997 at Starwood Amphitheater years before we met. It was meant to be!

In the Summer of '92 I took a vacation to Boulder, Colorado and stayed at the Holiday Inn Holidome which had a giant indoor pool and jacuzzi. Took a dip in the jacuzzi and after a bit these guys come buy and get in. We start talking and I told them what I did and they said they played music. Then they tell me they just released a record. I asked who they were and they said Spin Doctors. That was cool. But in September of that same year I couldn't believe what I saw when watching Saturday Night Live - they were the band! It was awesome. They were princes. So cool! I'll never forget it.

This song reminds me of being a kid, feeling cool in the car with my teenage uncles when we were meeting up with family. The car is full of cigarette smoke. It's the 90s. I have no clue as to what's to come later in life. For the moment, I'm just jammin' and feeling like a cool kid.

Used to walk to business school.with this song in my ears (every morning), and it always made me feel so uplifted and full of impenetrably optimistic energy. ...some feeling of FREE.

I first heard this song as a young 20 year something..I was studying at the University of Papua New Guinea. A first year student. It was 1992. I had injured my nose playing rugby. I had to have an operation in Cairns, Australia and we had to scrimp and save so I could go have this operation. My Mom and step Dad worked so hard to get enough money for me to go. We managed to get the money needed and I finally went but had to go alone. We couldn't afford for anyone to travel with me. So I travelled for the first time to Cairns, Australia, used instructions we had received - through fax - checked myself in to the Motel near the hospital and booked myself to have the operation. Went in had the operation. Stayed a bit. I have never felt so alone. I knew no one and there was no one waiting for me. After the operation I checked out and spent a week recovering. I went for long walks marvelling at the sights of Cairns. A small town nobody in a city. I had just enough for the motel room and budgetted for two meals a day. This song was on the airwaves then and I would listen to it on the radio in my motel room. I listened to the radio much and enjoyed the company of the announcers who reminded me of my radio stations back home. This song got stuck in my mind and became part of my soul. This song always takes me back to 1992 and that amazing adventure. This song always reminds me about how determined mothers can be. She passed away in 2009. But this song..always reminds me that she's there. Thank you for reading this.
