Just amazing that a “parody” band of comedians is better than more than half the real bands and handle a dead guitar in a major stadium with ease….pure PROS. Much respect! I saw them on the first gig of this tour at the Disneyland Hotel in a private show.

The genius of Spinal Tap is that even when shit legitimately goes wrong, people just expect it as part of the show, and it kills.

I remember being 18 and watching this on an MTV special, or something like that, and just laughing my ass off when they said we are going to cut our set short because we believe Freddie would have wanted it that way. I just absolutely thought it was the funniest thing……and re watching this over 30 years later, it is funny.

I just noticed another funny detail: Dave's TINY amp.

After tonight's performance I think we're all going to have to call them "The Spokesmen" because they sing beautifully and they tell a fascinating story.

And their drummer survived!!

"I know for I told me so"..... Saw them on this tour in Orlando, got a Derek and David pick, sadly no Nigel Pick. Great show, they did all the gags from the movie and to top it all off, Steve Morse joined them on stage for Big Bottom!!!

It's a shame that this was omitted from the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert DVD. I remember the day well because I lived in Wembley at then time and could hear this from my flat window whilst watching on the TV with a very ghosty picture.

Good old Wembley Stadium looks beautiful with the huge crowd in the evening sun.I went there when i was about 10 to see England play,we lost of course.Horay.

Even though they are a fake band they are better than most real bands I see today on MTV live

::applauds:: This is why I love youtube, so we can see past majestic, if you will, performances like these. Also - I see a lot of comments wondering who the drummer was. That's Ric Shrimpton, the twin brother of the late drummer Mick Shrimpton who appeared in "This Is Spinal Tap" and tragically died from spontaneous combustion. (Both are played by Ric Parnell, who was an established drummer by the time of the film, such as for Toni Basil's hit "Mickey". In the film Mick mentions having drummed for "Atomic Rooster", which was an actual band Parnell had been in).

What an absolutely massive show. It looks like a music store onstage. Insane. I had no idea they were so big. That can't all be their gear obviously. That Tobias that Derek is playing is freakin sweet.

Apparently it was a guns n roses roadie or a member that messed with his rig that led to the problems , it was not funny and I do feel sorry for Spinal Tap, but they handled it like professionals

What is really epic is they still tour...on occasion. I saw some video where the 3 of them are so old they look like Peter, Paul & Mary onstage🤣 (I mean that in the utmost respect though, because I was an "opening act performer" for Peter, Paul & Mary at their final show in Portsmouth, NH in the mid 90's).🎶 To SEE "Tap" even NOW would be EPIC🎸🎶

I've spent the last 33 years seeing him as David St. Hubbins but I swear right now all I see is Jimmy McGill's brother Chuck in his wilder youth no one knew about.

Tongue in cheek,..( obviously ),..but good to see that they can play their instruments,..and the vocal 'aint half bad either !. GOOD ON YA !

That chorus melody is kinda catchy, "The mystery of rock, the majesty of roll, the burning of old socks, the smelting of the gold... etc."

The delay with the guitar P.A was not part of the act, was a legit incident. One longstanding rumour has always been it was Slash and/or Slash's roadie who sabotaged it just prior to them coming on, for unknown reasons.

I like the 4 sets of double humbuckers in the yellow guitar. F-N sweet. I feel inspired by that alone.

And with this one LIVE SHOW Spinal Tap earned a higher place in "rock & roll" history on the "best live show" list than LED ZEPPELIN. Who are yet to produce a TRUE LIVE PERFORMANCE to compare to it where even "casual" music fans and non-musicians can watch Jimmy Page closely and intently while listening to the "live music" and NOT SEE that he's the KING OF AIR GUITAR LIVE-CONCERT "KARAOKE" WITH OUT THE "PERFORMANCE" PART. Even the worst karaoke singers ever are still SINGING LIVE. Jimmy Page hasn't played guitar "live" with TV cameras rolling and closeups of his "playing" YET that wasn't clearly "live" in that he was definitely touching the guitar and strumming strings but not so "live" as far as his GUITAR and STRINGS and PICKUPS and CABLE being connected to any "amp" and speakers the AUDIENCE could hear.
