As i approach being 56 listening to Spiral Tribe transports me to the birth of rave old enough to know better but young enough to do it again , 88-92 were the best years of my life , from the bottom of my heart thank you .
We must have been at the same parties. I started going to raves in 91. Best ever times. Lots of sound systems around the Oxfordshire area. Street level, Spiral tribe, Circus warp and Bedlam are the main ones that I can remember. Amazing times. So glad to have witnessed it. Envious of you starting 3 years before me..👍😎
@@raver_90 I'm 52 mate. Loved the traveler raves too. Every time I smell a wood fire now it takes me back to my raving days. Every Saturday night we used to meet up at The Set pub in George Street, Oxford and wait for the phone message of the location. Even then someone had a mobile phone or pager, lol. Then a massive convoy to the party. The late 80's to the mid 90's must be the best ever years of any generation. That's for sure. Wish I knew someone that knew where the parties are going on. I know they still are. ✌️😎 Not sure they would be that safe these days though sadly.
We leant a pair of bass bins and a Martin Amp never got either back, i went to Reggie's Van at the end of the Rave to get them back, i was by Reggie "They are packed away in the front of the van you will have to get them back at the next rave we do" that was the last we saw of them, i spoke to Mark and Debbie about getting them back, the last i was told was some bullshit about the amp and speakers got blown, our stupid fault for lending them we were only trying to help the movement.
Totally kicked off my house journey at a rave in an abandoned school somewhere in London back in the day. Condensation of the crowd dancing in the school hall was just like rain. Couple of warehouse parties... go the early Hammersmith crew. I am little surprised this journey is not better documented. Exceptional moment in time.
It is time to respond to government. Disengage from the system. Don't vote, don't work... don't give a mandate to rich people to continue exploiting poor people. We do all the work, we suffer the burden of debt, they just float along. It's like crowd surfing on society. Crowd surfing is questionable when you think about it. I'm still not sure that any type of designer amphetamine (even if 100% pure) or ketamine is really any *better* for you than binge drinking at ALL, really, but those chemicals do something for you and society that alcohol does not. In fact someone one on hallucinogenics is more of a potential harm to him/herself than another , and while a bad acid trip sucks it doesn't kill. Also DMT and peyote may be GOOD for you FYI
Long time before castlemorten, this happened at Hortem cum Studley in Oxfordshire, i lived on a traveller site a few miles away. Years later i got involved with another sound system in London and met plenty of others involved with Spiral Tribe but when our speakers and amp went missing it was Mark,Debbie and Reggie where the main members, they hated it when police confiscated their system so why take ours Karma's a Bitch.

Yeah ive also heard stories of others having speakers and amps stolens, i know Big Life records signed them up leant them a rig that they stole, but i suppose a record label can afford it our little free party group couldnt afford to replace it. so they killed our free parties then and there.
