I only recently found out the real name for these shapes. They're called Spirangles. They're similar to spirals in that they expand from the center as they grow larger, but are made up of linear splines instead of curves. Always wanted to know how to build them properly. Entagma's famous Houdini tutorial on quilling was an inspiration for this, but I finally found my own way of drawing them using Blender's Geometry Nodes. If you like it, please share the knowledge.

Fantastic tutorial, thank you. There are only a handful of really involved GN teachers out there, and you are one of the best. Entagma are great, but they release very few Blender tutorials. New favourite channel - subscribed, with bells on!

It’s comments like this that push me to keep sharing video tips.

I should have framed from the start... at the end "frame your nodes so you know how it effects", my brain "this, this was doing something and that was doing that thing and... its working but HOW?!" 🤯Incredible tutorial, I just left my brain somewhere around 5:53, the way you speak calmly but everything you say is full of info. I need a bigger cup of coffee.

Thank you! Don't stress yourself. If you lose the train of thought, get up and take a break. I try to explain as much as possible in as short amount of time as possible. Otherwise, people lose interest. The positive side of RU-vid is you can always rewatch an episode. The truth is it took me the better part of a week to come up with a solution.

It would be great if I were, but no. I’m just a guy with a deep curiosity and a lot of patience to experiment and find solutions to problems that rise up it my day to day work. Thank you!

Great video! As someone who is starting out making GN videos, was wondering which video editing software you use? And what program do you use to create your visual demonstrations?

I edited this one on Blender VSE, taking full advantage of a little addon called Power Sequencer. Using Shift+T and moving your mourse you’re able to trim and remove the gaps in one go. Super easy, like editing in an audio editing program. Until recently I used Davinci Resolve, that’s great too. For the visualizations I am forcing myself to use Blender too. AE is my other tool. Good luck with your videos.
