Spirit is a great unit for a passenger. You don’t need another Packtalk on someone who is 30cm away and not going nowhere.

Very happy and impressed with our spirit HD duo. Sound is crystal clear and we have no problems in hearing each other even at motorway speeds (we have volume level set quite low and it’s still perfectly clear and loud enough ) The microphones do a great job of eliminating wind and any other noises. They actually cut off and only reactive on voice vocal speech, this is great as it avoids wind noise and also other noises such as sniffles etc that are annoying on an open intercom. Sometimes this feature can lead to a split 2nd delay & from the 1st word being fully heard, But most of the time it works perfectly with no delay, but the occasional delay is a small price to pay for unit not to be picking up wind and any other white noise etc that can be annoying. I think the spirit HD is great and for the money offers a quality bit of kit.

absolut perfect tutorial wanted to buy the cardo classic solo annd i'll do ! cuz it's perfect for my further use but good lord the number of activation i will have to remember is insane xD next time add some vocal control might be usefull to be easier to use/remember ! on all the rest u'r on top of perfection !

@@jenqq8514 I only use it for music. It's great-ish my helmet allows a lot of noise to come through so it might work better on less noisy helmets. But for music it's awesome and no need to upgrade to those 40mm jbl speakers that are like 80 bucks. Trust me, the make the music less loud but more bass. I don't need bass, I want loud music while driving 180mph

Just fitted the Spriti to my helmet today and can honestly say it's awesome! Simple to use and sounds great even on standard 32mm speakers. I will be upgrading to the JBL speakers when I can though. Fantastic comms unit with the simplicity of use! What more could we ask for.

@@Raj3w3ls I didn’t. I found the standard speakers are more than adequate. I changed to the Cardo packtalk comms system which came with the 40mm speakers but opted to keep the speakers that came with the Spirit as imo they sounded better.

Thanks for all the great information in this video it was really appreciated. I’m going to order a spirit HD but my concern is that if I order the JBL 45 mm kit am I going to have all the function like equalizer or only the better sound. On the JBL compatibility list the spirit are not there so cannot rely on that. Thank you!

Hopefully shipping won't get pushed again. Pre-ordered on 16 Nov. I've owned the Packtalk Bold along with the 45mm JBL speakers for a few years and wouldn't own any other brand. I've just recently discarded an older Cardo Scala Rider (duo set) that was finally ready to be replaced and this will be perfect for my pillion.

As a warning, the claim made around 23:55 that whilst sharing music, "if an intercom session were to open they would be able to talk over the top of that music" is incorrect. If you open an intercom session whilst sharing music, the second rider's music will stop. Similarly, if the intercom is open, if you start sharing music the intercom will close. Basically, you can't talk on intercom and both listen to music at the same time.

I found this to be true. The Spirit HD is fabulous, but this was disappointing. I got the duo set so my Wife and I could talk on a long two-day ride last weekend, it was a game changer being able to communicate while riding. But on day 2 we decided to listen to some music while heading back, but with the music on, the intercom session ended. We spent nearly an hour stopping in the middle of nowhere trying to figure it out, even coming to this video to see if I was doing something wrong. I gave up and we stuck to music - having my wife tap my shoulder if she needed anything. Cardo, let us know if we are missing something. Other than this, I will still recommend the unit, just with this one caveat.

23:59 says that we can talk over music sharing. But we can't seem to get it working! And I've read many forums that, you can only share music but not "talk while sharing music". I feel like I was scammed. Because I bought this so that my me and my back ride could talk while sharing music. Please help.

I just got the cardo spirit duo and I'm having the same problem. If I open the channel to talk to the passenger, she can't hear the music anymore. Then I have to close the channel so she can keep hearing the music. This will be very inconvenient. Will this happen on a phone call as well? Will she be able to participate on a phone call? Is there a way to share music AND have a conversation at the same time?

When both units are paired and the intercom is open and with music playing can you just speak and the intercom works or do you have to actually press a button? I have Sena 20S and all you do is speak and the music cuts and the intercom starts is this the case with Spirit HD?

I love that you offer FM even at this pricepoint in combination with bluetooth 5.2; something Sena is getting rid of so it seems :/ How's reception? Ive read it sometimes randomly switches between different frequencies and channels even though reception is good.

I have a spirit hd. A couple of people I am going to ride with have packtalk ede. Question if all the packtalk edges are connected with each other on a group ride, can I also connect with one of them with my spirit hd at the same time? I just want to stay connected to one of the other packtalks in the group whilst they are all connected with each other. Will that work?

Hi Guys i wanted to ask about a feature called "audio multitasking" let's say I have the dual pack and connect one unit to each helmet. to me and my passenger. we are listening to music or the radio and someone is talking. the volume of the music drops to listen to the conversation and as soon as the conversation ends the volume of the music comes back; fully automatically without pressing any key or giving a voice command. thanks

Once I start sharing music and at a moment we open the chanel to speak with eachother the music stops... And when we close our talk, the music is also stop sharing and we need to activate it again. Is it normal? By the way, I have the Spirit HD. Many thanks.

I have a SPIRIT HD duo for me and my girlfirend. I plan to buy another one for my dad when he and I go touring together. Can I pair my unit to his unit or is one unit (my paried to my GS's unit) maximum? I will not use it with my dad and girlfriend at the same time. i think that the only thing i dont like is having to press Forward+Down to pause music. would be nice to be able to set custom control layours in the app or something like that. id swap pause with the next song commands.

If you get any of the Cardo helmet systems and they don't come with the 45mm speakers do yourself a favor and upgrade to them. I can hear crystal clear at over 110mph on my Harley Low Rider S.

My cardo Spirit HD device muted from one moment to the next and I cannot unlock it, the bottom button pressed for 2 seconds does not unmute it, I don't know what to do, it seems to be a problem with the device. I have already ruled out problems with the cell phone, with the application, with the pairing and with the wiring and base of the device.

When we do music sharing, we cannot hear each other on the intercomm. But when we stop the music share we're able to talk and hear each other again. Am I supposed to click on anything so we can talk to each other on top of the playing music?

You can just reject a call from the unit, or I suppose you could put your phone on total silence before riding.

Do I need to have both units paired to my phone??? OR are the units designated a & b ?? I have tried pairing the units and the one on my helmet always becomes the second unit even though I start the pairing on my unit. Thankfully we can talk to each other, but because I have my unit paired to my phone I cannot share the music with the second unit. Any advice welcome.

Hi there i have the Spirit HD with 2 headsets so my wife and i can talk , only had it for a few days but when we were out it kept loosing contact between my wife and myself when we turned the units off , when we reconnected we found we couldn't talk ? this may be user error and not used to the buttons etc but after looking at this video i have a question once paired do i have to press the Phone button every time we want to talk ? surely they should work when we speak? thanks T

I have the same problem with Spirit. Even if I reset both devices, It still not working. Both devices can connect with phones and work fine, but intercom with Rider A just not working. Sometimes only one user can hear from another, but the other one hears nothing. No matter we pair with app or using pairing button of devices directly. I think it could be firmware issue (hope cardo answer our problem to confirm). looking forward Cardo fixes this with next firmware update soon.

@@JonathanPerez-yx2ym I found a workaround. I connect both intercoms to my Samsung phone and route music to both intercoms from my phone. It is a Samsung feature, I dont know if it is available on other phones.

Packtalk will connect to any other open source Bluetooth comms unit, even those $40 Jabra Bluetooth handsfree phone earpieces. Except of course Sena, which are not open source, you have to connect through the BT phone connection. It's all in the Pocket guide.

Me and all of my friends have packtalk blacks and I was looking at getting the spirit for my wife as she does not ride as much, if I did get her a spirt would I be able to connect her to mine and still connect mine to all of my friends

Hey @willariju I had the same issue, did you manage to get it fixed? For me, I turned of developer settings (Android) and made sure I had play ringtone on earphones option turned on.

My spirit hd keeps wanting to pair twice to same unit…done this about 6 times now. Go through and “forget” all devices then pair up again but always comes back w 2 connections. Pairing iPhone fyi
