The gist of the song is that Jesus is our savior and that through his salvation(which is referred to in the song as the pool of blood) we find eternal life as he is the fountain of life. And through his salvation we are able to praise him till eternity, this is just a brief summary from my interpretation of the song, hope it gives you some understanding
