It is one of the roughest bits of water in the world. The night crossings are strange as after 10 pm it is totally deserted. Except for the top deck and the couch sleepers -very comfortable believe me.
Loved this video! Some observations from me (Matt) 1. Brook really needs to get off the ciggies 2. Julius is truly German for eating muesli for 10 years straight 3. Brook might be the GOAT of sleeping, truly a special skill 4. Have to agree, Julius was extra perky on this one
The new ones haven't arrived yet, both old ones. The little bar does nice toasties and mini pizzas....That was still a mild trip. it gets a lot worse than that, but it also gets a lot smoother.
yes looks like unfortunately can be quite unsettling if queasy based on luck of the weather 12:19 poor guy and the couple on the left had to look away. ive been there, its a terrible experience especially knowing it won't stop until the journey finishes.
Brook I envy you just being able to sleeping on that chair for hours! NOT looking forward to our trip in two weeks, I’m sure I will get sea sick 😅 is the cinema for free?
She can honestly sleep anywhere 😂 you guys will be fine! Maybe get some sea sickness tablets though. Are you doing night sail or day sail? Cinema wasn’t free but I think it was pretty cheap. We were originally going to do that to pass time but the movie choices weren’t great. Hopefully some better ones on the way back 🤞
Haha! I am fortunately a ‘sleep in any situation’ type of person which has worked in my favour. However, you should be ok. We didn’t have any sea sickness tablets and we were ok (just wasn’t pleasant), so maybe if you have those you’ll be fine! And the cinema is $10 per adult and I think the website has what movies they’ll be showing.
I went maybe 2 years back and took the motorbike; it was blowing a gale at Geelong and everyone was making seasickness jokes. Had a very pleasant 1m swell that rocked me to sleep overnight. On the way back 2 weeks later i rode through and boarded the boat in a storm and the trip back was only a fraction bigger at like 1.5-2m swell and slept like a baby. I definitely got lucky both directions because i do get seasick!
Thank you for this video!! I’m doing this trip but in reverse leaving Devonport 2nd of may me and my little Corolla and I’ve been searching these kind of videos for months! And by far yours is the most welcoming knowledgeable and helpful 🎉 and I think I’ve watched over 20 now 🤗
Too kind ❤️ enjoy the trip, it’ll be fine. The staff are great and will have you sorted. The whole process is a well oiled machine. Hopefully you get calm seas!
@@brookandjuliusthat would be lovely I’m doing the night sail with a cabin so should get a decent night sleep then driving to appolo bay all the up to Adelaide and back
I reckon the night sail and cabin are the way to go! Just wake up on the other side 😅 that’ll be a great trip. We really enjoyed the Great Ocean Road and SA
