Spirituals are a genre of American folk music that articulate the suffering, longing, and religious passion of African Americans during slavery and its aftermath. Religious hymns, work songs, along with traditional African rhythms and chanting styles, all contributed to the development of spirituals.
What does the word of God say?
The Word of God is living and effective and sharper than a double-edged sword. It penetrates to the root of the soul and spirit (Hebrews 4, 12). The Word of God is like a love letter from our Father God to guide us along the path of life in the midst of so many temptations and difficulties.
