You know, another perk with the inkjet is that since you’ll jump back to where you activated the special when it runs out, you can safely grab a far-off egg and bring it back to the basket with ease if you activate the inkjet near the basket.
@j Well, not really. you have to look at the "logic" the game goes by explosher, bombs, and inkjet all have a explosive mechanic stingray, and grizzco slosher can penetrate. Sloshing machines follow neither of those rules therefor not breaking the fly fish's baskets
My advice for specials: Splashdown: Save for Rush waves, and if you don't get a Rush by the third wave, use it on Steal Eels. Bomb Launcher: Also use during Rush. Inkjet: Use only when you're the last man standing. Sting Ray: Save for Mothership, and if you don't get Mothership by the third wave, use it for Grillers and Flyfishes.
The concept of saving specials is a horrible idea. If they make sure you are not losing a wave where your main weapon just barely wouldn't, use them. There's nothing wrong with arriving to wave 3 without specials, because it means you made wave 3 in the first place and you might be lucky and get an easy one.
I agree, the inkjet is best in all situations, survivability, anti-Boss streaks, quickly grabbing a far off egg (especially on Ark Polaris), and don't forget, if your stingray player doesn't attack the mothership, inkjet is the next best thing, with about the same DPS (damage per second) against the mothership. Honestly, why wouldn't you be biased towards it?
The big reason the Stingray is so good against the Mothership is not only because it reaches it from anywhere, but also because it very easily breaks the coolers and splats the chinooks right as they leave
I'm so glad u made this video bcs I know how to use my specials but there were many times where my team just barely survives the final wave and once its over every single one of my teammates uses their special to party and its like, bruh why not use that to not almost lose instead of partying, so yeah good video, I hope in salmon run people will be using their specials more wisely now
Welcome to back up tips with me! Splashdown: Make sure you prioritize in killing bosses you know you can kill without missing your special. You only have two per match, so use them on bosses that have you can kill 100% of the time Sting ray: It's common knowledge at this point, but if a mothership decides to show it's ugly mug around you, sting ray it when it tries to go for the egg basket. It can also kill grillers Bomb rush: To be fair, Vasko basically covered everything in his video, but the bomb rush can be used during fog to scout out areas if you have something like a charger or splatling Inkjet: Prioritize in killing bosses with your attacks since the meatier of the normal salmonoids (cohocks, I think) die in 2 shots instead of 1. Also, avoid using this during griller. If you get locked on to, using this special will keep you safe, but you'll have a hard time killing it
Alola Vasko, Thank you so much Vasko for this training video. I will try to use these special more effectively and not make them go to waste. Lillie Personal Notes: Splashdown is my personal favorite in the whole game actually, I use it as a mass revival, Panic button, make a fast path or crowd control. Bombrush to create a pathway for my teammates and even a defense move. Inkjet is so much fun to use, personal uses are on bosses and revival. String Ray really stings.... I personally don’t use it, Save it for something else. If I ever do I’m safe space, and use it as crowded control. It the laser that will pierce the heavens. I actually sacrifice myself and get surrounded so my teammates can fight a bit more.
My tips for specials: Stingray is also pretty helpful when finding the goldie as it makes it drop a bunch of eggs Splashdown is a good way to regain turf area if you're being overrun by a bunch of salmonids bomb launcher And Jet is good all around, us it as a panic button or anything you like
Vasko I just realised that you forgot to mention, only use your specials when absolutely needed. I was just in a match and I saw someone use their stingray on one single scraper in front of them. Only use your specials on overwhelmingly big crowds of salmonids not things you can do without your special.
yeah it seems like most people either don't use their specials or use them at weird times XD I guess picking a good timing for when to use them is the hardest part
I actually 100% disagree with this. There are only 3 waves. And if things can start to get out of hand really fast. So to actually use a stingray to kill a fly fish that is very far away or in a bad spot isn't bad at all. Better use them early, before it's too late.
I actually saved myself from falling using an inkjet in salmon run because i got knocked off into the water but I had enough time to realize "I can save my self using an inkjet" and if I died our team would've lost
One important thing to note is that with the inkjet during the griller, fog, cohock swarms, and glowfly modes, you can use inkjet to fly on the water without returning back, and it’s really good if glowflies are on you so you can become untouchable and shoot them simultaneously.
1: If y'all haven't figured it out yet, every special can kill flyfish. Flyfish are the most dangerous salmonid and thus you should do whatever you can to counter them. 2: If you remember to splashdown or inkjet when the time is right during the glowflies special event, you will be totally fine. 3: He kinda grazed over this one but if you have stingray during the mother ship round, use it once it gets semi-close to the basket and eggs will fly EVERYWHERE. 4: Bomb rush can be better used to kill things if you throw it at a steel eel's body or dead teammates because those cause them to explode on contact. 5: When flying with the inkjet, if you are near the basket or some eggs, go into squid form to fall down and pick up/deliver them if nothing is currently threatening you. 6: This is just a tip for using bomb launcher at all: People always forget that you can charge your throws to throw farther and use your main weapon while it's still active. 7: Inkjet shots explode upon touching the ground, and can be used like a blaster to kill scrappers while they are facing you. 8: The inkjet's thrusters have a hitbox and can kill salmonids and revive teammates. 9: The hovering squidbag is the best salmon run party option.

Ink Jet doesn’t always end when you go above water! It treats the ground hidden on higher tides as still flyable terrain, meaning you can actually make some crazy maneuvers in high tide
4:19 PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THIS!!! The few times the timer was extended just enough to survive, or the bombs literally reviving someone and their i-frames meaning they are safe for a bit, are so incredibly satisfying. Very helpful during Goldie Rush for this reason. These saves should happen more often, but they don't... People would rather run away than act like part of a team :(
Also, needs confirming, but I think if you throw a bomb behind a Scrapper, it splats them. You can ricochet them off walls and get their butt splatted that way! Not super reliable, but if you're like me, you have teammates that ignore Scrappers until they die to 3 at once...
I personally think Bomb Rush is really good at clearing things surrounding the basket and getting your allies back in the fight if they let the basket get overtaken. It doesn't have great boss killing power and really only kills Steel Eels and Maws well but it has a lot of power behind it when it comes to the regular salmonids and keeping the situation more under control

@@VaskoGames well, there is a choice between 1 of 2 actual endings, either one could be the true ending, depending on the players opinion. (I may have worded my comment a bit wrong . . . ) Also, I tried looking on RU-vid, there was no video that involves either ending.
The splat bomb launcher is Super Good at stunning scrappers so you can go behind them and finish them off with your main weapon (you can use it while launching the bombs) and is also really good at killing stingers
In the salmon run mode of grillers you can use the ink jet to sit above the basket and not get splatted by the grillers. And the grillers go directly to you instead of your landing spot to so you can safely sit on the basket
I was playing salmon run yesterday and some guy probably watched a video similar to this saying “use your specials on the mothership” and he tried to use splashdown on it, *he a little confused but he got the sprit*
Ooh, nice tips. I'll agree that Bomb Launcher is the worst special for Salmon Run. I have trouble finding good situations to use it in. But it is a good crowd control and teammate reviver. Additional Inkjet tips: If you get pushed into the water, you can activate it if you're fast enough, which will save you from certain doom. Sometimes. Also, since you can swim while using Inkjet, you can grab eggs with it active, too!
The Ray can splathop just fine when it needs to move. It can also "Ray-strafe". Not an overly uncommon scenario that I bust out a Ray only to kill 1 boss and then move away, waiting for it to end. Also feel like you're underrating Bomb Launcher against Stingers quite a bit. Getting out 3 (or even a safety-4th) bombs quickly from distance isn't bad, also works at close range if lessers are spawning on them. Don't forget that you can hold R to increase range, and that makes it possible to hit Stingers from halfway across the map (example: Grounds high tide right grates Stinger is reachable from the top middle platform.
At least I know when to use my Specials when doing Salmon Run. Sometimes my teammates never use them and we get creamed in the first or second wave. Plus, even if we survive all three, then they do like you said and just spam them in celebration at the end. I don't understand some players doing that when the difficulty is around hard to very hard based on ranks in the Salmon Run. I'm only a ProFRESHional 400 as I haven't tried going all the way to whatever the next ProFRESHional milestone is and reaching Hazard Level MAX since I'm usually paired with teammates that don't know how to use their Specials properly.
a good thing to do with the inkjet is to use it by the basket and then fly over to an egg and when your special is over you have an egg and your right at the basket
I learned a lot of random stuff in this video that I hadn't known before, & I hope more people watch this video so then they'll actually use the inkjet against flyfish :p

2:20 It's an explosive sack full of the steel-head's saliva. (Gross, I know) That was really a good tutorial and display of sploon skills. Sadly, there will always be some players who just don't use their special, but I bet your guide will really help those who want to git gud. Also, I either didn't know or completely forgot that you can't fly over a steel eel with the best special (inkjet).
Sometimes when things look like it's about to get rough, i use my special to basically tell my teammates "you have specials to use!!" and then they actually use their specials an manage to save them self's. Nothing worse than loosening because you teammates didn't use their special to save themselfs🤣
In my opinion, the Inkjet is over all, the best special in the game. Just like the Inkzooka, it has a really long range, and good power. The only problem that I really come across with it is going in face-to-face with multiple enemies (for some reason, if I'm being picked on by a single enemy, I somehow always manage to One-shot them in hate to survive) The typical problem with the jump location is not the case with me because I start it out in a hidden corner or a unnoticed ledge.

Try to save your specials for the last wave, it's the hardest wave to win. I'm not saying don't ever use it, it's just smarter to use them in the last wave.
