@@evantheidiot heavy doubt dude. Both female and male variants are staying separately in the game so other players can use both versions freely. It makes no damn sense to leave those in as placeholders. Make it make sense.
@@evantheidiot why would they be place holders? It’s been the same for every Splatoon and I honestly think they should keep it that way. Old amiibo give you their old items and new ones gives you new content.
A little thing to note here: If the amiibos have Splatoon 2 data, they will unlock all the specific gear on the first scan. Edit: Otherwise, you unlock a new gear piece every 10 turf war wins, you have to win 30 turf battles to get all gear apparently. I haven't tested this but found it in reddit.
If you use the Amiibos on Splatoon 2 BEFORE you use them on Splatoon 3, they'll give you the entire outfit rather than just 1 piece. If you already used the Amiibo on Splatoon 3 first, reset the data on the Amiibo via the Amiibo option in the Switch options menu (this will erase all the data on the Amiibo, so make sure you're ok with that) and use it on Splatoon 2, then jump back into Splatoon 3 and use it, they'll give you the remaining pieces of the outfit.
I got the full outfit in splatoon 2, but I didn't transfer my data. I reset the amibo but it still only gave me 1 piece. Idk what's happening tbh. It only gave me the full outfit on 1 of the amibos
It seems they reused the same 3d models from splatoon 2 for Pearl and Marina which I think makes them look kinda off compared to everyone else who have improved higher poly models.
Yeah they felt really out of place. Even materials wise, did you notice that Pearl and Marina's skin looked flat and lifeless? The other updated models you can really see the depth of color in their skin. At least this shows that S3 really is a graphical upgrade from S2 despite many thinking they look the same.

but do you need to be a specific level? or won a specific amount of matches? cause in Splatoon 2, i can't get the full sets, just the head & chest gear
As far as I know you scan the amiibo for the very first time, then 3 battles later you scan it again and they'll give you clothing based on how many battles you did
if the amiibo are new, you have to register them into splatoon 2 first. otherwise you'll have to grind a lot to get the rest of the gear. if you register them into splat 2, you get all the gear right away.
@@mattistired actually youd still have to play a few matches to get all the gear, but getting all the gear in 2 does guarantee that you'll get all the gear in 3 when you scan
does anyone know why the octoling boy has the wrong ink color for the octobrush? in the video it’s yellow, with my amiibo it’s teal, but it’s really supposed to be pink.
So the purple inkling boy gives you Samurai armor or is that random? Also i heard you need to play 3 battles in order to get the full set? Im new to splatoon so i dont really know that much... Some confirms or corrections to this would help
I just got my first set of Amibos and when I tried to scan one of my Amibos in, it only gave me the shoes, and not the whole outfit. Is there something I need to do to get it? I’m confused
I was also confused but then my friend told me I had to do turf battles and win to get the rest of the gear. It goes in order of shoes, shirt, and headgear in how you get them.
If I'm not mistaken, you need to win in turf wars about 10 times to get the next item from the amiibo. But as you saw in the video, some amiibo that had save data from Splatoon 2 gave all their gear right away

Callie and Marie didn't give me the rest. They've only gave me the shoes. I'm guessing that you need to play more battles? (Winning battles) Update: I just got all the items. You guys don’t need to tell me anymore.
I’m disappointed that Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and Green Squid give nothing. Especially since they are the original splatoon Amiibo back from smash! Would have been cool to awe rare gear from them.
The Splatoon 1 Inkling Girl, Boy, and Squids all give gear. Their recolors all give the same gear as the originals. It's just that you get given gear based off of battles it seems, so not all of the gear that they give was shown here. Girl gives a school outfit, Boy gives the samurai outfit, and squid gives the power armor. Using both the og and recolors probably won't unlock the gear any faster.
@@ray9671 I've seen someone say that you will get one piece of gear by default, and every other time you can only get another piece in about three battles and checking again. But I don't know if that's confirmed. I've also heard having data on the amiibo from splatoon 2 can get all more pieces or all pieces at once? Not sure, and I don't have the game yet myself to see. Just be sure to see what you get on first scan, and play a few battles and come back to see if they'll gift you any thing you're missing.
@@ubeltheukiki the battle thing is true! its definitely more than 3 battles and i lost count tbh but after playing for a while they give u another piece of gear
In Splatoon 3 agent one should have kept the gas mask honestly I think it would look sick being in the splat lands and judging by the atmosphere it's probably toxic from Dust n stuff
You need to win at least 10 battles and 10 more for the last peice of clothing. Unless you have save data form splatoon 2 you can instantly get all three gear.
I remember GameXplain showed this too, but their Switch wasn't connected to NSO. In both cases between their video and this, both players were playing using Pro Controller.
Hey is there something needed for Pearl and marina to give you all of their gear? When I scanned all my they gave me all the pieces but when I scanned those 2 and it only game me their shoes? Wasn’t sure if I had to level up in between gear like the previous games

What happens if you already saved the freshest fits to the Splatoon 1 amiibo, and had already gotten the gear from them, and then you try and scan the color edit versions of the same amiibo, what’ll happen?
I just got the gear inkling boy amiibo, I wanted to unlock it on my sister’s account but it just shows that it comes from my account and doesn’t give my any pieces of gear, do i have to delete all my amiibo data to use it on another account?
Why so many shoes? If scanning that many amiibo, one would think the first unlocks would be a bit more varied. When I eventually get Splatoon 3, I will promptly scan the original 3 amiibo. But I would prefer that instead of 3½ pairs of shoes, I get a shirt and 2 other items. But maybe it usually is random, and this was a fluke. Or maybe some free gear can be unlocked from the Nintendo Switch News page, like with Splatoon 2. Or maybe there'll be a Splatfest when I get it.
@@ScoobilyDoobs But what if you want to have a shirt that isn't shot full of holes before your first battle? I guess there's always Nintendo Switch News unlocks. But I have to wonder, does the Smash amiibo unlock anything unique under any circumstances? Probably not, but it shood.
ok can someone please explain to me why my inkling boy gave me the boots and the suit but not the mask I would like to know what to do in order to unlock it?
Fr it isn’t working for me either they told me you have to win 10 Matches to get the Shirt and then another 10 for the head gear it hasn’t worked I won 10 Matches
Ok I found a Solution so for this you need Splatoon 2, after scanning the Amiibo in Splatoon 3 and getting the shoes go back to Splatoon 2 and scan it again, then it will ask you to overwrite/Delete the data of Splatoon 3, after you do that Take a picture with the amiibo, after that go to Splatoon 3 and Scan the amiibo again and it will give you the gear
Wait a minute? If I were to say I go back to splatoon 2 and use my amiibos on there, then come back on splatoon to use those amiibos to get the full gear without having to go through the whole match right?
You can. I unlocked the full power armor set from the green squid before even playing the online multiplayer, because it had Splatoon 2 save data on it.
