Thank you Prime! The artist-eye made me think that the pose was a little stiff, but your comment made me feel a lot better about it! Thank you so much!
👀 Callie might be out of frame, but Captain's flip-flops aren't! (And Marie's parasol!) Looking forwards to more new amiibo content and curious to see what you'll make after the New Squidbeak Splatoon is done!
I’m surprised nintendo didn’t already make amiibo like this Also, since you already had one leg you could’ve made a silicone mold and fill with resin to more closely mirror the original amiibo, also for the arm since clay is flexible you could’ve copied the other arm and then un-bent it to make the arm’s size match more, and you can spraypaint parts before putting them on the amiibo, but regardless amazing creation as always!
Yeah, I'm also surprised that Nintendo did not make amiibo for them. Although we have not even gotten the Deep Cut amiibo officially announced yet, so who knows... As for the silicone mould, that could have worked. But with those kinds of small parts making moulds for them is very tedious and it was quicker to just sculpt one by hand this time. the spray-painting could have also worked but with those it is quickly going to leave a texture that is much more noticeable on smaller figures like amiibos. That's why I used an Airbrush to get a quick overage where placement did not matter to much. And I like the painting process too since it is very relaxing so I don't mind applying colours by hand. But thank you very much for the tips and the kind words as always Froggy!
Pearl in her damp socks outfit would look AWESOME!!! Speaking of awesome, this was a cool video. I only just started to look into custom amiibo like 3 days ago, so its cool to see the process of someone making one of these. ps. you just got a subscriber
