Having only just came across this channel, my reaction to this video: *MMMMM* ADHD is pleased.. …. …….. ……………. ………………………….. (painful urination #3)

Splatoon 3’s hero mode always had me scratching my head… Not so much its direction similar to Octo Expansion, and not so much the plot. But the characterization… First of all, Deep Cut. Yes, they’re posing themselves as so big and bad, but given their just cause and reputation as music idols, don’t you think their threat levels are pretty much off the bar even for them? I’m sorry, it’s not their threat level, but rather the protagonists’ ability to REASON WITH THEM! Frye appears and offers a share of treasure with your character… (canonically speaking) She says nothing and just let a life-threatening fight occur… instead of… I DON’T KNOW…. asking each other’s respective goals and teaming up making a deal with each other (albeit IT DOES HAPPEN TOO LATE INTO THE GAME…), the NSS and Deep Cut just treat each as rivals with no motive of being so… the NSS is searching for Cuttlefish and putting an end to the fuzzy ooze while Deep Cut is hunting for treasure and would kill anyone who gets in their way. We could’ve avoided the fights by explaining each other first before the potential bloodshed… but nope! I guess the devs just wanted the “love at first sight” idols to play the murderers… The characters could’ve just said, “I’m a fan!” or “Let’s make a deal!” or “Have you seen this old geezer?” etc. I get it! Negotiations don’t do anything, but at least SAYING SOMETHING MOTIVATIONAL would’ve avoided unnecessary bloody conflicts and focus the attention on the real threats at hand. But games like that just want us to be total a$$hole$ knowing we’re going to like our attempted murderers later on… Why do games with narratives do that? And you know what? Splatoon lore sucks! I’m just here for the fun action and watch the idols perform!
