The Heavy Splatling was my main weapon, as well. But I find it hard to believe you didn't recommend Ink Saver (Main) for it: one primary slot of this would give you an entire extra charge, if I remember correctly. I was able to get really damn aggressive with that - I even went a full set of nothing but Ink Saver (Main) with only one Ink Resistance Up, and I recall having almost three more charges than usual, which meant I could still put up one helluva fight after setting a Splash Wall. I carried teams with that all-out approach for some time. Also, I'm surprised that you never went for the sidepaths in Walleye Warehouse - your enemy team kept assaulting your team from behind pretty effortlessly. The Charger held the center under control, the Carbon Roller pressured your team, and the other two kept sneaking up to your base.

That last game was a perfect example of why you should you check the area closest to your base. There was so much pink there, your teammates really have no excuse for leaving it be.

That inkling's name is a Jimmy Neutron beverage.

Does anyone else think of TV shows like Johnny Neutron, Johnny Test, Ben 10 or Danny Phantom when he uses the Inkstrike? I do because in some of those stories I write, when my 7-year-old cat Scooby purrs up a storm in Inkopolis or in Octo Valley, in an Octarian's point of view, he is brutal because when he purrs, sometimes a bomb is dropped into the enemy's hands and when the enemy's trying to find a place to throw it, the bomb blows up in the enemy's hands, blowing up the enemy in the process.

Chuggaa, even though we didn't win any matches today, I still learned new things about splatlings. I main this thing too alongside other weapons. I am still enjoying the series and I still new learn things even though I have been watching and playing with competitive players for a while!

These videos just makes me want to play Splatoon again. I forgot how much I love this game.

Something I noticed when playing Octostriker missions, is that even swimming at full speed he never once targeted me with the Inkstrike, only when I popped up long enough to kill Octarians did he target me.

why is there so much fighting on the center when your own base has big spots of enemy color

Splatlings are just amazing for Rainmaker. You can use them to break the shield that surrounds the rainmaker, or if the opposing team breaks it first, splat the ones that go for the rainmaker.

Your first game is also a good lesson against over-extending. Your second game is a good lesson about making sure you get rid of enemy ink closer to your spawn, instead of just focusing on where the fight is.

As a S+ splatling main I am baffled as to why you would leave out damage up in your gear recommendation. Damage fall off is very real with the heavy splatling and it takes only 3 subs of damage to help mitigate it.

I decided to come back (after 3 years) and check out chuggaconroy and its so nostalgic just to hear his voice, also his videos have shaped my personality like I'm loud, I like terrible puns and of course I love video games so thanks Emile you changed my life from a young age

This episode sorta illustrates why I dislike playing online. I could be using my favorite/best weapon and play amazing and still lose, and it makes me super salty. Mmm.... salt would go good on squid...

If anyone is playing any OctoStriker Mission, you can use seekers to cheese them; They can forge pathways without alarming the octostriker itself. And it is useful for clearing out hidden octarians.

The reason you start becoming confident then die (or almost die) right after is because everyone is dead, you spend 10 or more seconds without any enemies fighting you, so you start to go "Ooh, this is easy". But during those 10 seconds, the enemies have re-spawned and made their way towards you. Meaning the exact time you get confident is also the exact time they've re-spawned and walked to your area.

Wow, I never knew there were pointless Squee-g's on those two walls and I never knew that the Octostriker runs out of the Octocopters xD I always killed it quickly lol.

it looked like in that second game the reason you lost is becuase they had the splattershot jr get behind you and ink all of the turf behind your base, so even though you regained control of the midfield it didnt matter becasue you were basically sandwiched in enemy ink, not pushing very hard or getting pushed very hard near the end

It makes sense that the Heavy Splatler is your best weapon...because your character is dressed just like you.

9:35 "...Splatlings have constant range no matter how long their charge has gone on for." Tested after I heard it, and only partially true. They do build up range as they charge just like a Charger, so just tapping the trigger will be much shorter. _However_, once the first "circle" is fully formed around the reticle, that means your range has maxed out and that further charge just sustains your fire for longer, providing more damage overall. This is different from a Charger which maxes range and damage simultaneously.

ahhh my favorite weapon!! Remix is my favorite too, I have mastered it so well that return into other weapons feel so weird. but I actually use it very very well in Splat zones, especially urchin underpass!

Honestly I can't thank Chugga enough here because when I got this game I was garbage with the Heavy Splatlings. Now I LOVE the vanilla kit!!! I unfortunately don't get to play often anymore.

As a fellow Splatling main, I might come back to this weapon bio more than is healthy... been looking to improve my playstyle since I got back into Splatoon and this might just help. Loving this series so much and it did get me back into this game!

I feel like Turf War should've basically just been matches with a map-wide "Splat Zone", like as soon as one team has more percent of the map covered than the other they start gaining points and first to *insert number here* wins. Then coverage would've mattered during the entire match and not just during the last minute while still being essentially the same game mode.

I can't wait until the inkbrush episode. It's my main, I love it so much.

On a note about the Hero Roller, one time I was playing Turf Wars on Piranha Pit as a Hero Roller. I was feeling a bit risky, so I kept jumping into people and splatting them. This helped my team so much that we began to push them back. I kept splatting and splatting until the game was over. The results were; me with 10 kills and 2 deaths (which for me was pretty impressive), and the enemy team's total area percent was *5.6%!!* That was a good day.

Because of Chuggaaconroy's Splatoon LP, I think I'm getting more into the mulitiplayer aspect of the game.

Judd's Splat Bomb advice at the end was actually really good. Not sure if that's in the weapon description itself though.

He died in one hit because you inked him a few times when going around and defeating the little guys. Great playthrough by the way.

The last loss was because you didn't watch your back. The carbon roller and the one guy kept getting behind your team and just leisurely covering half the map. Gotta watch that man.

for someone who never plays splatoon, i personally really like the heavy splatting, but i couldnt help but wonder what this would do in other f.p.s objective games (overwatch, tf2, etc)

When I want to have fun and be a bit of a jerk, I use Recon and Special Up; once I get my special charged up, which happens pretty quickly, I have a backup path I use to get back to a safe distance that I can jump to spawn, and release the inkstrike on wherever the most members of the enemy team are on the map. ...It's made me a target quite a few times, but it gets the job done and it's funny.

I think your problem on that second match was that everybody was playing offense, with minimal defense. That's what allowed the opposition into your territory without your noticing and covering up your base.
