On the normal speed, it creeps me out, like listening to the cries of a miserable animal. On 2x speed though, it sounds like me trying to hit the high notes of Ebb & Flow in the shower.
Marina trying to tune a Splatoon version of Hatsune Miku for the first time and fumbling it despite being a virtuosa with any musical instrument she touches so she hid it on a hidden folder hoping no one would ever listen to it
my first thoughts of entering this bosses floor was like “yea this is definitely a torture machine” turns out I’m wrong edit: i never expected this many likes
[splatoon 4 announced] "Meet your new idols: Cronnie the Jelleton, and Tiky, who we promise is not just 8 smallfry in a trenchcoat!" (cronnie as in asychronous and tiky as in stick lmaooooo)
@@mihyroiz_heatlair there's an official splatoon relationship chart where pearl and Marina are called "lovers" lol,,, also in the dlc marina keeps saying how cool and cute pearl is😭😭 u have to be kinda delusional to not see it
@@mihyroiz_heatlair you're telling me there are people who still deny the fact that pearl and marina are gay even after side order? Lol. Go read the OFFICIAL Splatoon pearl x marina manga
@@echothefreak9396 that’s fair haha it is kind of a cutie pie and rondo is definitely eery with the music and the spotlight, i just find it more engaging personally bc you kinda have to be stealthy. but they’re all cool bosses for sure :)
I have this headcanon theory type thing that the bosses are all parts of Eight's unwanted memories. Parallel Canon are the judgemental inklings or Squidbeak Splatoon members. Pinging Miracle are the bad memories of the octoweapons or the eight ball. And the Asynchronous Rondo are the bad memories and trauma that eight has about fighting through the Deapsea Metro. I don't know if anything here really holds water, but that's how it feels like to me.
i dont know why but i like to imagine that it isnt like tortured souls singing from the machine but its actually just Asynchronous Rondo itself singing just because it wanted to
I love this boss, the theme, the design, the fight and most importantly: these fucking wonderful noises. Thank you for uploading just the sounds this thing makes.
This honestly kinda breaks my heart ;-; Marina made the memverse right? Did she like store all her pain in it or something? This poor machine sounds so overwhelmed and tortured, like it’s trying to be happy but can’t. I was originally scared when I first saw this thing but now I only feel bad and want to know more.
@@karenanthony6140 I know yea, it just sounds so sad to me, as if it’s trying to sound happy but it’s not. I could be looking way too deep into it lol, but still. Mostly the ending to
Marina did create it, it's intended as the surveillance system of the memverse, and according to her it was much much cuter before order corrupted and hijacked everything
This boss always gave off haunted child vibes to me. Something about the way it sings while spinning around and trying to find you makes it feel like some twisted version of hide and seek or red light green light.
When you check enemies' profiles in the game, you can press A to hear some audio samples of each one. If you hear this boss' audios, one of them sounds like it's saying: "I... can... hear... yoouuuuu...". This damn thing still creeps me out, and I love it for that.
Creepy pasta theory about this, it’s dead octolings who were forced to fuse together (like the cluster from Steven universe) and while they may have lost their minds they still remember ebb and flow from inkopolis square and it’s the only calming memory they have so they keep singing it
Ok yall are getting on about this comment lmao, it was just what i heard. I know its ebb and flow and it doesnt say im in torure. I noticed it so i went ahead to share it
im pretty sure rondo singing was a song marina wanted to add to the memverse, but it was distorted horribly when order showed up that and how it sounds ingame reminds me of the screaming octolings from octo expansion
people are saying 2x speed sounds like a.i generated Marina Imo, it sounds more like male 8 with the way it starts. Maybe it’s replicating 8 singing ebb and flow in the shower or something lmao
I know it’s just a machine in Marina’s virtual reality, but for it to screech Ebb & Flow of all songs, it’s like it’s crying out for Marina-its mother-to put it out of its misery under Order’s control. I’ve come to view Ebb & Flow (and by extension, Fly Octo Fly) as a really special song to Pearl & Marina. For Marina, it was initially just a demo to help her break away from Octavio and the sanitization of the Deep Sea Metro. It was a fervent prayer for a better life on the surface, acceptance of Octolings; it’s a song of liberation. So for that same song to be what this boss is wailing, it’s like it’s calling out for Marina to liberate it from Order’s control, even if that freedom only comes with death. Least that’s how I view it anyway
...Huh...Who would've expected this boss character to have been singing Ebb & Flow albeit very slowly. It's like speeding up that one unused track in MOTHER 3 and finding out that the vocals were saying "One, two, three, four".
I don’t know why but when I first heard this in game I kinda wanna imagine Rondo’s sounds are just a mish-mash of all the failed attempts Marina (and/or Pearl) tried to first sing Ebb and Flow
This makes me think perhaps this boss started out as some sort of music venue type thing in the virtual world turned panopticon and that’s why it’s singing, just my two cents
It's probably because I couldn't pay attention in battle, but I can finally hear it sing at normal speed if I pay attention. ...But that doesn't make it any less disturbing-
Order: “Aaaaaah, what a night be this... Crew! HOWL with me so that we might set Inkopolis Square, ABLAZE with fear! AWOOOOOOO!” Panicking Alla Mambo: “NAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!” Asynchronous Rondo:
Fun fact, this boss is based off the panopticon. It’s a type of prison where all cells surround a watch house. The watch house can see all the prison cells but the prisoners don’t know whether or not they’re being watched. Kind of like a mental torture
