October is the time to break out the horror films, even more than I usually do. Splatter University is a fairly overlooked slasher from the early 80s. The film is a weird mix of bitter and silly but as a whole it is very enjoyable.

@redbaron932 Thanks! With the amount of screen time they gave Wolf, they probably could have given him his own spinoff. The song is bad, I even cut it off before the really annoying part where it goes "runaway, runaway, runaway" like a million times.

4:30 if you were to use knife on a forehead even assuming you cut all the way down to the skull it would likely do absolutely no lasting damage. youd get a scar, sure, but thats about it. there are not necessary organs there outside of the skull, the area is basically a heating and cushion system for your skull. Assuming one does not suffer from blood diseases its impossible to kill somone by cutting their forehead unless you cut behind the skill.

Eh it could sever the supra trochlear, artery supra orbital artery, as well as the supra trochlear nerve, Whilst death is highly unlikely, you could bleed to death given enough time and even if you didn't its possible that you'd end up with partial facial paralysis.

Ah man. This could be either one of the worst or the best horror movie ever. It's so self aware that i think it trumps Scream. You know what? I'd like it to actually be modernized. The theme song could be used as a "trolling" device thru out the movie. Used as music in the club. A concert. A commercial on tv. A ringtone. Even as elevator music. lol. This could be the new "I'll buy that for a dollar".

Love this movie, it's so fucking hilarious! The trailer for this is one of my faves. Earn a higher degree in terror! Splatter U! Also, I wonder just how this ended up in the hands of Troma? Cecil, you have any idea how that happened?

Not sure exactly but I know Troma was in the habit of buying up the video rights to a bunch of unknown slashers at the time, usually getting them on the cheap.

@missnycsparkles Thanks! The word on the blu ray came straight from the director. I know he was having some issues with Troma, I hope that isn't going to hold it up. They already recorded the commentary for it.

Some intensely hot guys in this movie (Tom, Wolf especially). In the full movie, the drive-in scene is the best thing in the whole film. Wish they'd utilized that setting (and that guy) a lot more!

Great review! I couldn't have put it better myself. This movie has many flaws..mainly the awful characters but I really enjoy watching it..its one of my fave 80's slashers. where did you hear about a blu-ray release? I can't find any info anywhere.
