@@DistroGaminghaha just came back to this - I’d had many drinks at the time and did not even realise I was watching THE splinter cell speedrunner haha - new to watching streamers but I remember CriticalNobody mentioning you and your runs in his own Speedrun learning video. All bow to master Distro 😂 seriously though its so good there’s someone who keeps breaking these games. Congrats on all the world records🤣

@@Cristian-de9iu Oh, I see. This is an Any% speedrun. Any% always just uses whatever is the fastest. The speedrun is actually on Rookie, not Realist. I start on Realist because it skips a tutorial at the start. If you check around 1:27 to 1:31 then you see me switch to Rookie for the whole rest of the run. A Perfectionist or Ghost mode speedrun is a challenge speedrun. I don't do those. This is Any%.

Any% (NG+) is the default category in Blacklist. There were discussions (including by me) to officially add a NG category and to rename this category to something like "All Campaign Missions" but there weren't enough interested runners. The Splinter Cell speedrunning community is tiny. That being said, this is the official world record for the main category of this game. Compared to the other runs in this category, this is the fastest one.

Correct! This is Any%, the main speedrun category of this game. The only goal is to go as fast as possible from beginning to end. However, in Blacklist this category is NG+. I have actually advocated to rename this category to "All Campaign Missions" or something similar and to add an Any% NG category, but this is not up to me. I am not a moderator for Blacklist speedruns. Starting on the 2nd highest (or highest) difficulty skips the tutorial at the beginning of the Safehouse level. I switch over to Rookie after the skip. Keep in mind that this is the official world record of this game's main category. I can call it whatever I want, it would still be the official world record. Do you get the score when you skip the part server room on Special mission HQ

Do you get the score for any of those parts you skipped in the Hq ?

I honestly have no idea. As a purely speedrunning focused person, I don't pay attention to the scoring at all. I just want to point out that competitive speedruns take quite a bit more skill and perseverance than one would think at first glance. That being said, I get you. I really do. Speedruns are not everyone's cup of tea and definitely a niche. Still, it can be fun and also quite challenging. :) Edit: the run is on the easiest difficulty btw. We start on Realistic to skip a tutorial and then switch it to Rookie right after.

@@DistroGaming it’s fabulous to see the grind for sure. I just put in so much hours studying the methods to beating the best scores and it’s very similar to a speedrun of a campaign entirely. Instead I make it different because I’ve discovered many ways to reset gadgets and ammo during checkpoints, giving me more chances to get Chains DoD… the true challenge for Blacklist is either doing a challenge like you’re doing here or trying to do a single mission with a high score run.. the speedrun is definitely tougher just because you have one hiccup like missing a skip cutscene and bring you back to the previous one lol or missing any of those crucial time crunch moments… love the content bro

In a high score run missing skips are not crucial at all in fact I discovered a way to bring checkpoint fails at a zero time waste during restarting checkpoints (: also found a way to bring three of each gadget on perfectionist 😎😬
