Not every project has a single floor plate. Oftentimes, especially on renovation projects, we are working with different levels across the floor plan. There are some things that need to be considered for Best Practice when working with projects that have split levels.

Helo Mike! I love your videos! I did all as you explained but in the time i need to schedule my floor area in a lower floor, which is lower than my plan view ( floor in -75cm, ) i cannot see in the region my areas and the name of the room. How can I solve this problem? Many thank and a big hello from Brasil!

I am trying to figure out how to do raised computer floors and floated floors in Revit LT. Computer floors have the walls sit on the slab, while floated floors will have the walls and ceiling sit on top of the floated slab. This can be the jack-up type from Mason Industries. We often use double-wall systems (or triple). What is the best way to approach this? We often also deal with these types of floors where the rooms are irregularly shaped. I'd like to be able to change the dimensions and shape of these floors without everything else falling apart. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

hi, i have a ramp with irregular shape and slope. how do i create a beam align with the shape and slope. the shape of the beam is the width of the Ramp .

Beams can be told the exact height at each end... You can use the Spot Elevation tool to get the exact Elevation of the ramp and then you can set the two ends of the beam. That sounds complicated, but I don't think you can use the ALIGN tool.

Amazing! It's unusual content on youtube, thanks! I'm trying to fix something. When i insert a door the floor finishing disappears under them. Why it happens?
@miketaylor8211

There must be something in the door family.. like a masking region. Are you using the generic door that shipped with Revit?
@Elisandro_

@@miketaylor8211 I redid my floor using "join geometry" under the wall and i solved it! But i used generic model with masking region to represents the 2D door.

I’m glad it is working. Sometimes we have to be creative with our solutions! Perhaps on the next project the doors won’t act so crazy!?

What I meant to say ...whenni go to floor plan i m not able.to see the diiferent finish material what i set ....

The CUT material is set differently than the SURFACE material. So in the Section box.. the cut material is showing in the side... but in the plan view, the surface material is showing.
