In the second video of this series we split the International 434 in half and get to see why the PTO clutch wont work. See part one at this link • Fixing My Tractor Clutch See part three is at this link • Repair and run my IH 434.
Absolutely fascinating vid. Good tip on separating a tapered shaft too. Love the way you could close off the diesel tap. The designer/engineers of old have to be admired. Their foresight allowed you to get to the heart of the problem relatively quickly unlike many modern machines which could take days!
Lots of work to separate. I’d have to be taking pictures to be able to remember how to put it back together. Great video. I’ll be watching for the next video for sure. 👍🏻👋🎄
It’s was only when you got to trying to pull the tank out I remembered I’d had the same problem 😆, I ended up taking the battery box floor out to steam clean the tank (full of fuel bug🤦♂) looking forward to part 3 👍
Our Ford 3000 is easy to split the international seems hard work but you are doing a good job as long as every thing go s back together keep up the good work !
Chuckled at the comment “leave nut on a couple threads” as was told the same but sometimes you just know best 😉 Same chap taught me to use two wedges each side of axle so engine can’t roll over, makes it a lot better for joining back up as when you give it a little wiggle (or sometimes a big one) it doesn’t get all drunk and scare you 😝
Just watched your video on this IH 434. Absolutely an excellent watch. I have a B-275 which is under a biggish restoration and found your video may be a great reference should I need to replace the clutch in the near future. Can I ask please will you be doing more videos on the 434 like odd jobs and servicing? Also is that your steam engine in the background. If so I would be very interested in seeing videos on that. Enough rambling, Loved the video, now subscribed and will be watching all your previous videos on your channel when time allows. A big thank you.
Thanks. I'm not sure if there will be more videos on the 434. I enjoyed making this series of three but it was quite time consuming. I hope you enjoy the rest of my videos.
Interesting video, not too many differences from when i did my 250 apart from when you get into the clutch mechanism itself 🤔 would the Dave you were talking to been Dave Shaw by any chance as he is a mine of information, these plates were certainly a mess but looked to clean up quite nicely🤔 look forward to part 3 👍
