Split Screen Multitasking on iPhone - is it REALLY WORTH IT ? 

True multitasking is a must. Apple is so far behind in the game on key features like this. I've been an Android person from Day one and gave Apple a try with 14 Pro Max. This is one of most missed features for me. This should be a software update for apple and not an app

Split screen is an absolute must. It drives me absolutely crazy. How Apple seem to lag so far behind on some fantastic features available on android it’s almost like they do it on purpose to drive us crazy

I use the split screen feature to watch/listen to video podcasts on youtube while running my maps navigation on the bottom while driving. It's nice to be able to glance at the video when they're referencing something during the audio while also keeping the navigation running. The video only takes up about a third of the screen on top so the lower two thirds makes the navigation more useable.

An option to do so would be nice. It may be practical for some people! For example, using a calculator and a spreadsheet at the same time.

This is the kind of feature that maybe isn't used very often, but is great to have and missed if you don't. I use it, for example, to open a bank statement and the calculator together, to add values. I also use it in meetings, to open zoom and my notes at the same time. Among other uses. It's a useful feature, yes, and it's a shame Apple doesn't have it, especially on the larger screen iPhones.

It might not be practical for all users but the ability and the choice to do so or not is what we're asking Apple to provide for many years.

id love a proper split screen feature, probably something close to what samsung does. I came from an S22U to a 14 Pro Max a few weeks ago and that's definitely something I'd like to have on this phone!

I’ve used it in Galaxy S3, and it was the best feature back then. If this feature came again, I’ll be so happy for it.

Lol I just moved to a 14 Pro Max bc I had to for work, from a Galaxy S22 Ultra. I cannot believe this thing can’t even split screen lol.

You don't find it practical yet because you haven't used it for long time and you're not used to having this feature on your phone. But if you are a person who always need to be productive, this is a must feature. Regardless of the division of screen real estate multi tasking is still a multi tasking. Imagine having expense report saved in your gallery and need to compute using a calculator. Multitasking comes in handy. Or maybe need to do side by side comparison of 2 pdf files. One you can open with adobe pdf reader and one with another pdf reading app. Multitasking comes in handy. There are multiple practical use of this than browsing your social medias at a time. Obviously, multitasking using 2 social medias at a time is not the main function of this feature. This feature is a necessity for productivity more than social media consumption

Being an NWS weather spotter, the split screen will be very useful when storm chasing by having my radar app and navigation app open in a split screen will increase safety and storm interception immensely.

Multitasking split screen is a must on any device. It helps a lot when trying to cross-referencing/checking between apps.

Its very practical if you r driving, listening to you or anyone on youtube and having map on the other half of the screen. That’s the only reason I need it

This is by far the best feature for a productive person common what are you using your phone for, a lot task can be achieved with Multi tasking

Realizing that this was a thing is the main decider in me not going back to iphone, the app showed in this video only gives a rough idea, because it wastes too much screen, but picture in picture can be so helpful in so many cases

split screen on android is very handy, its usually specfic apps that you multitask.

Samsung's pin to screen is like one of the best features i use it all the time

I want the ability to play multiple/2 audio sources simultaneously. The podcast app and the music app or Spotify playing audio without stopping each other. I’d be great if I could bed the music under the podcast audio. Currently, it’s possible to be on the phone while listening to music in the background so the iPhone iOS is capable of playing to audio sources at the same time, Apple just needs to make it possible with any apps to play two audio sources at the same time

who cares if YOU don’t find the need. if I and everyone else can think of a list of uses and you can’t even think of one, what does that say about you

I feel like that app is what makes it feel clunky and takes up more of the screen than a built in multitasking feature would. Apple would optimize it a lot better in my opinion. I could see it working great even on a regular 14 pro

For example I would use it to check for song's lyrics while I listen to a song on RU-vid or maybe having a video in the "background", while I text on WhatsApp. I used to find it very useful when I had a Samsung some years ago and I would really like this feature to come to iPhones as well 🤷🏻‍♂️

for someone who loves to watch or listen to music on RU-vid while reading on browser, multitasking is a must. i also play multiple accounts on a certain game and multitasking is really helpful for that. this is the only downgrade i experienced when switching to iphone. but the rest are top ❤️

I don't think that it would be bad. It may have limits but, it depends on what Apple allows it to be used for. Some people may like it and some may not.

Having the split screen and other multitasking capabilities is the reason I don't leave samsung as my go to phone brand

Rideshare drivers would like this. It helps manage the demands.

It will definitely come in clutch when you want to do calculations.

One of the things I missed after switching from my galaxy note 10 to iPhone 13 is multitasking feature. The other one is the back gesture. Iphones are for old people.

The split screen is very use-full in putting the the dictionary above and the Spanish below. I use it almost daily on my Samsung. I am reading King in Spanish.

Great app but honestly I see that split screen multiple tasking doesn’t actually seem to work well on the iPhone ,you can still only do one thing at a time and it’s confusing at times!.Maybe  will implement it better if they ever do buy for now I don’t really see the great benefits!:.

I write songs, so I want to write on the notepad and play a song on RU-vid with the split screen. That’s what I used to do when I was using android phone

You could be studying a pdf and looking at solutions for it too

Having the option to have splitscreen > not having it. I often use a banking app that requires I go to a 2FA App and having them both open would be hugely beneficial. That's just one example. I wouldn't use it for two social media apps as featured here, but I could see me using it in Notes Apps alongside others, or google maps used along side imessage etc.

Literally the only reason I'm not buying another Iphone until they add multitasking, maybe you don't find it useful but I have gotten used to having G-maps and another app weather it's RU-vid, Spotify or anything else while commuting

as android user that use split screen + pop up app always everyday, I'll feel frustated if I my phone can't do that

The best feature is from netflix the mini screen and you can adjust it at any size i see that helpful for my opinion and i hope one day youtube can do that too. 👍

Sometimes it's just easier to do a task while having multiple apps open instead of switching, it may not be for everyone but I don't understand why is apple so adamant in not opening up the option, people that don't use this feature won't be affected and people that do will be happy customers, it just doesn't make sense

I'm gonna switch from iphone 13 pro max to oneplus one or another android phone because lack of this feature. Third party applications doesn't solve this problem, actually they are pretty bad. I can't believe how iphone got behind of android phones so much.

You may not find it useful but its an important feature. I will be going back to Samsung Note if Apple doesn't bring it back.

I normally use my calculator with my budget app at the same time. Sometimes, i watch a video while texting or messaging.

Split screen has so many users... Just finished crunching numbers had my banking app ontop calculator on the bottom. It's extremely useful.

I don’t really use this feature when it was on Android, but I really loves using multiple monitors for my computers, I guess it’s because I feel better switching tabs but that’s my personal preference

I like to read my digital bible and take notes on my study by the split. On days without my ipad. Iphone in my pocket would be nice to do that.

I want 2 things from my iPhone 13 Pro Max.. 1 .. Apple Pencil support.. or a smaller variant of Apple Pencil for iphone.. and some form of multitasking. I want to be able to have a small portion of my screen for playing RU-vid while I navigate. I don’t want to pay for subscriptions so I listen to my RU-vid playlist.. and RU-vid won’t run in the background.. and for some reason Picture in Picture doesn’t always work.

Having A15 without these things is real dick . Now they think of ram/battery maybe!

Split screen or multitasking with notes & pages; pages & numbers. Maybe split screen with Collab. Work with Freeform & safari. Not two split screen safari web browsers.

I prefer smaller phones, like my 13 mini, so this feature for me isn’t really necessary. I didn’t use it with previous bigger Android-phones.

Well I think we should ask for better features 1. We really need call recording 2. App lock which is very very basic in every other phone These 2 features are really helpful for security, privacy and in this era of mishaps and false accusations call recording will really help 3. Additional one can be making a different folder for camera clicks in photos as every next photo is in one single folder and not easy to differentiate

As much as split screen is a plus, it’s not much in an iPhone because they are usually small. My xr almost fits inside the screen of my Android

I do need this with my homework but not split screen, it is like a small resizable window at the top of other app like miui this would be super helpful but they should make it available even for small screen but I don't recommend split screen is useless

It is worthless to use it for social media, as an ex android mobile user, i use to transcribe text on my mobile i can have two different app open and transcribe my texts more easily. The multitasking app that you have share works as a simple browser it’s not the multi tasking am looking for.

I was gonna say I’ve downloaded this app like a couple years ago and I literally haven’t actually used it once. I’ve tried it or used it to show people screenshots as a demo but as far as actually using it not even once have I ever felt the need to. Maybe if it came natively and maybe if it could support split viewing things other then just web pages I might do it, but idk I can’t imagine myself actually using it

With all the power on bionic just a waste if they still keep iphone as simple computing phone. In other side android utilize all the features and it's power. Even samsung give dex mode the "real" Dekstop OS

I have the option on my fold 4 and I don’t even use it. It drains the battery a lot so I use my phone as a phone and I wouldn’t want it on my iPhone or my fold 4 I use them as phones. If I need a bigger screen I just grab my laptop

I would use true multitasking to film with the iphone camera and use the remote control app for my DSLR at the same time. 😅
