Splitboard Hard Boot Pros, Cons & Modifications

Do NOT do these modifications, they are not recommended!
If you splitboard chances are you have heard of using hard AT ski boots opposed to the standard snowboard boot. In this video I will let you know what I think the Pros and Cons are of hard boots as well as how I personally modified (not recommended) my hard boots to get the desired flex and feel out of them.

Great video. Been using Atomic Backland Pros for quite a while now. They have a lot of medial and lateral flex without modding/plastic removal and are actually softer than the softboot I have (a Salomon Synapse Focus Double Boa). The only mod I've made on them is I've swapped the stock ride/tour levers with a Link Lever from Phantom to increase the dampening of the boot and give me way more forward lean.

Great to know ! I’m surprised that they allow that much flex, and with that they still keep all the attributes that make a hard bit better ? I imagine that the link lever really enhances the ride down with the dampened, surfy feel. I hope to try the Backlands or the Phantom Slipper very soon

You need to come up for a Phantom Slipper review! I prefer it to my soft boots at this point!

That’s awesome man! I’m glad they are working out so well for you! Hmmm a visit is definitely tempting haha, I would love to make that happen but idk. What’s the best month ?
