This will definitely improve my productivity. I struggle with the large rounds- not because I’m lazy, but it’s slow going. I usually hire a friend to block them up and when I get an opportunity to split them and deliver the wood is often only every few weeks or so. This SplitForce 11/16t is a self propelled, vertical wood splitter with an attached adjustable conveyor. Where has this been all my life!

Interesting splitter. I like the simplicity of it. Self propelled is the way to go with a machine that size. I like it!

Glad to see Empire has finally gotten with you and sent you a Splitforce to use. They truly are a great all-in-one machine. I've often thought that it would be a good match for you, simply for its ease of mobility around your wood yard. You'll have your upper wood yard cleaned up in no time! Looking forward to future videos with the Splitforce. Keep up the great work, Jeff. 👍🏼

A commercial vertical splitter is certainly the way to go for a solo firewood operation. The SplitForce is unique in that you can drive it to your logs. The one thing I noticed while you were running it, those rounds that had angled cuts slipped when the wedge was coming down. Having perfectly flat and square cut ends on the round would be much more effective for this splitter.

I think the rounds in my wood yard will be much better. These ones were trash from around my mill. Not a real good test.

I’ve always wanted to try one of those machines. Always need a splitter no matter what. Not everything can be sent through the processor.
@thelogfather5002
@thelogfather5002 7 месяцев назад
I’ve got a great wood supplier. They can usually filter out the oversized wood before it lands here. Less than 5% now won’t go though my processor.
@Treestofirewood
@Treestofirewood 7 месяцев назад
@@thelogfather5002 that’s key when they can really get you what you really want. I usually get what I want but you know how that goes. They try to sneak in a few from time to time. But it all burns. Just a little messing around sometimes.

Pretty handy machine & cool that you can drive it to the wood pile👍👍. Would probably make more sense if you didn't have the processor as you likely wouldn't get enough oversized logs to justify the the cost...

Welcome to the Split Force family 🙂 And here's an operational tip from Gina, for pieces that are leaning (slant cut on both ends), have the top end lean towards you so that should it kick out at the bottom, it won't kick towards your body. Hi Jeff!!😀😀 The split force is one hell of a great splitter. I have only heard one complaint about them and that's that the petal is a little too high and your legs gets tired because of having to lift it up all the time. That's were the Eastonmade Axis petal is only a couple inches off the ground and all you have to do is tip your toe up onto it. Other than for that they are a fabulous machine. Looking forward to seeing you run it more. Bad thing is they are pretty spendy if you aren't using it almost every day. Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al

It doesn’t seem to make any trash- it all stays on the table and I can sweep it to the right every few rounds. The only thing that goes on the conveyor is what I put there. :)

For that short wood order, 17cm = 6 3/4 inches. I would cut the wood at 14 inches and split then resaw as needed, sale falls thru, wood still saleable.
@thelogfather5002
@thelogfather5002 7 месяцев назад
I wouldn’t do it if I had to handle the wood twice. Cheaper not to do the job and not get paid than doing it twice and get paid only once!

This thing is darn sweet!! A little rubber pad under the wedge might help in these frozen conditions tho eh?
@bwillan
@bwillan 7 месяцев назад
That would defeat the purpose of being able to slide the firewood and rounds around on the work surface easily.

I think if the wood wasn’t frozen it’d be fine. It would kinda defeat the purpose of the slippery table for sliding the rounds to and fro.
