I have added an FR too. It would be nicer if we could rename the Splitter streams. Also, when we split a signal we get a trim control post plugins in that split part but it would be nice to have a trim control pre-plugin at the start of the split.
Very nice tool! In the insert section in the console there should be a visible indication for the use of the splitter and the option to adjust the gain of a parallel chain directly, so you don't have to open the whole thing again. That would make it perfect imo!

No splitter in the Artist version, apparently :( Is there a better workaround for the EQ-reverb thing than putting them both on an FX channel with a low send level so you don't EQ out too much of the original signal? Not that I'm complaining... S1 Artist is still easily the best DAW imaginable for the price. And these tutorials are super-helpful... the only problem for me is figuring out which ones only apply to the Pro version!
The splitter tool is brilliant in studio one I agree.... But the problem is it hangs sometimes and crashes the session. That's why I'm scared to use it.
I've always mistakenly clicked that splitter tool and never used it. I usually always will send Reverb and Delays to a dedicated FX channel. I'm interested to learn more about how the splitter tool might be better than traditional FX routing!
The splitter tool would be easier to use sometimes if it was possible to split by percentage (dry/wet mecanism) and not by dB on each part of the split.
Thank you Joe and guys from Presonus! Show page is a real step forward live playing alongside S1 but can I put several thing to next update wishlist? 1. I need possibility to change presets for guitar in the middle of the song. Imagine playing part A with clean tone and part B with crunch and back to clean tone without need to touch any keys. Now it can be done by splitting song into parts but that's not how it should work. 2. I need automation for any parameter in show page. Imaging not only changing preset in Ampire from Clean to Crunch but adding reverb on part C gradually - changing MIX value on reverb plugin from 0 to 100 with automation. 3. And last but not the least - I really need LOOPER as a VST plugin inside S1. Especially in perfomance mode - it could be synced with song tempo to layer down some parts and integrate whem into live show. That's my 2 cents. Thank you for inspirindg tools and information you've given us.
Definitely suggest it to PreSonus, they look after their people. Most useful things that users suggest to the improvement of the software or hardware, they come through
@@mufudzimaposa Yes their responses are generally pretty good I agree. As soon as v5 appeared we discussed it with them so they know for sure. v5 > v5.1.0 > v5.1.1 and still waiting though. Actually I'm more interested in them fixing MPE support properly. They'll get there eventually.
I wish the splitter could split a signal and send it to separate outputs/channels. Or Studio One could support VST effects with multiple outputs...either would be handy as heck.
I can sqay with 100 confidence being a deep power user and have a sound design fetish, the only reason for multi out out is to record or be heard, and they have FX channels and buss channels you can send infinate pre/posts to and because the arranger is muitaually exclusive too, you can just add FX mix by event FX ELEIMINATING the need to send to multiple different ins and outs when mixing, which is far and away EASIER, more musically sensible and it leads me to my next question. like for really why would you need to send the individual splits sub splits to another channel real time, because u can do exactly what your saying, but u would just need to duplicate and transform tthe track/channel to retain a hard copy. I have a macro for similar things and my gen10 i5 does it some time 51.x faster than real time. Do u need to monitor the invidual frequency bands while there are live mo9nitored through the console. Im not trying to be rude, but like the whole reason for why you would want what ur asking for is not something I see, Im genuinely curios as an enginneer .
@@nolannosuchthing3190 Surround sound is the obvious example. For me it's using crossovers for certain styles of reggae mixing. Plenty of effects plugins provide multiple outs for various reasons, like Unfiltered Audio's Triad, but Studio One doesn't allow you to use this feature.
@@stobiepole that is kind of what thought, I would generally never need surround sound and always try to force my breain to only see mids and sides with air connecting them in a dome, helps me visualize my instrumentation for panning's.. Thats awesome you mention it be for reggae, as I am a drum and bass/jungle producer and DJ and Reggae is one of the only kinds of music other than Dnb that I listen to on a daily basis, such a fantastic style of music with an influence on many modern styles .
What do you think to link the reverb volume to the one of that 8 assignable buttons to have flexible control w/o need to open signal spliter or reverb dialog plus one bypass assignable button?
Quick question what would the difference be let's say using the splitter tool splitting the signal of the vocal reverb so the vocal is still dry while the vocal reverb is on the left/right vs adding a vox reverb bus and panning the reverb to the left/right. Do both yield the same result except one adds a fader the other one doesn't?
In the Room Reverb plugin, is it not possible to control the “room shape” to control eq? Isn’t the room geometry “plane” dial there for the express purpose of controlling rumble? Is this video saying that’s not enough control? It seems there should be an option like the Arturia Plate Reverb that rolls off the bass? That way there’s no need to do all this extra. 🤷🏽♂️
