Yeah, you get a whole new level of respect for our ship building ancestors when you have to split one of those suckers manually. I sure did.

Holy shit. They made beams, planks, support wood, and all their joints manually. The planing, the treatment soup made by hand, the flexing, the bending with fire! DAMN.

How NOT to do it! You start from the outside in not from the inside out. Also, this is forestry work, you do not do this on residential environment. Your handling of the chainsaw was also poor, you cut with the tip, not the whole blade when making grooving cuts.
