Your garden is not only beautiful, but it is a place of serenity. How lovely it would be to sit on the bench, sipping lemonade and looking at the wonderful surrounding areas.
Pretty much. When I started my landscaping I bought 3 plants (at 50% off at HD), split those into 5 more over a couple years, then split one of those into those 3 in 2020 now I have even more LOL it takes time but its a fun rewarding process. Good luck!
The hydrangeas behind the bench are perfect, a pretty backdrop and a conversation piece! Good idea to move those there. Love your garden, its fun to watch the progress with each show!
You saved yourself lots of money dividing your plants. I would have been terrified to do that but it’s a great way to stretch your plants & save money. Great job ,everything looks great & I love your lion king hair 😂. Have a great day 🇺🇸😊🐝
it looks awesome ... love your vision. And any girl gardening in flip flops is alright by me - I do it all the time !!! thanks for sharing ... I always look forward to the next one
lol thanks! sometimes i bust out the real shoes when i have to do a lot of digging. but with flip flops its easier to stay clean i can just spray my self off!
I trimmed all blooms off my hydrangeas after I bought them, thinking I was doing the best thing well a few of them ended up getting cane bores. Its been hard they havent come fully back after having to cut off the affected branches and Im not sure I got all the cane bores. I never knew that was a thing but I wont be cutting off anymore blooms when I buy a new plant. Your gardens make me so happy and gives me hope for my own. Thank you for sharing, the good and bad in gardening. I wish I had your soil its beautiful.
Jes, your created a whole new amazing area in your garden. I love it. Annabelles created a beautiful backdrop to your garden. You divided them so easy, wow!
Perfect video- Extremely Helpful and just what i needed as a refresher in how to go about splitting my hydrangeas! Along with good humor,Support for our Troops and a song to top it off- pure wholesome Goodness! Thanks Jes and have a lovely Day!✨🤍🙏🏼🇺🇸
Great video! I love the free plants! The Hydrangeas look fantastic there, and the boxwood looks great in the pot. What a ton of work, you just keep moving those weeds back like it's easy and I know that's hard work.
Well it looks easy cuz i speed it up on the camera. It sure is hard work but it makes me feel good and like I accomplished something!! Thanks for watching so much!
This has given me inspiration to move my Annabell and separate into several. I bought the improved version but in blush blooms to plant in the space (proven winners). 🤞🏻 🤞🏻🤞🏻🌺🌻🌸🌼🌹 ☀️
I love watching your videos they are so relaxing for me, especially when you sing as background ‼️ I hope you have a great day and a wonderful weekend 🥰🦝🐿
Jess I love how you make the most out of all your plants ! Again, I love your Gulley garden it is so beautiful !! Have a good day . Thanks for sharing everything with us .
Jes, you did an awesome job. I would love to see what it looks like now. My goal is to do something similar in my back yard. I fell in love with Annabelle Hydrangeas last year. I have a couple in my shade garden. They are so pretty this year. Also, I love white gardens (Moon). I am in zone 8/North Carolina. Happy Gardening!
HI Jes, I love watching you an yet I have so much to learn. I'm going to be busy this spring with my new edition in my shade garden i love Anabelle hydrangeas i will also be doing a hedge of 20 with a mix of hasta an many other shade plants. Thanks for all your videos it helps a lot.
Good job looking at the bigger picture. I can see the raccoon now looking around wondering what has happened to his patch 🤪 Hope your brother is enjoying his posting in Germany, I did 10yrs there and really enjoyed it
Good Sunday Morning Jes 😊 A day of hard work in the garden is so satisfying isn’t it! Can’t wait to see next year how the hydrangeas turn out! I love your choices of music, I recognize some of it is you, it may all be so forgive me if I’m wrong. When I heard your voice singing ‘I’m so lonely I could cry’, it took me a LONG way back. When I was just 11 years old I lost my father Herman Lloyd Browning, to a two year prolonged illness. He died abruptly on the operating table, his heart failed and this was just months before the heart lung machine was commonly used in operating rooms. I still love the song because it explained the depth of my feelings to myself even before others. My Dad was just over 40 years old when he passed, way too young. I enjoy more than I can tell you watching your videos. It brings that part of my original home state back to me in so many wonderful ways. Thank You.
God Bless you Janice for sharing something so personal and close you your heart! I love that you wrote his whole name out, this made me tear up!! You loved him so much, 11 years old to loose a dad is just heartbreaking. And then to find out about he new new machine created...goodness that takes my breath away. That song brings me back too, my grandma and grandpa use to sit around playing banjo, piano, guitars and singing all these old songs. There something about them that just hits a chord. Yes that's me singing and playing. Some of the music is just youtube instrumentals but the actual songs are me. Its fun for me to carry on what my grandparents used to do! Have a blessed day!
Hi Jes. I really enjoyed this video. ❤️ Please continue to update us on this new hydrangea hedge. I am interested in following up on the progress. Thank you for all your hard work.
one thing though, if its hot where you live you may want to wait til fall. The area i did this in is super wet and shady so they will be fine. Good luck!!! Its going to be beautiful in time
Totally enjoyed the video! Happy anniversary to your brother in the Army!!! Loved the Schrute Farms shirt you were wearing...that show is so funny!!! Thank you for all you do!
You are freaking adorable! I have annabelles and I am going to split them up now that I see this. I love all the hosts too! I love your style. Will be following your videos!
You are so brave! Taking gorgeous plants and dividing would be daunting for me! Love all your decisions, gardens and music! Thank you, Jes! If you could tell me the brand and type of shovel you were using I would appreciate it. God bless your brother and our thanks to him and your family for the sacrifices you make.
Good Morning Jes, I just have to tell you, I have a baby chipmunk in my house running around. He has been so challenging to catch. He is in a bedroom right now with the live trap, but can get out of the live trap. So funny, he is really cute. I would like to catch him soon.
Hahahahaha inside your house?! I can tell ya they go bonkers over Black Seed oil..you can pick up at most store and it’s reasonable also. Good luck returning him to his momma :) ✨🤍🙏🏼🇺🇸
How do you keep snails and slugs from eating your beautiful hostas?! I really enjoy your videos and your sweet personality. I look forward to seeing each new one. Your yard is so pretty!
Thanks Jerri! I haven't had much slug and snail issues. I did see some one year but just a few and I tossed them off. Im blessed to not have a problem with it so far
This is my first time seeing someone do transplanting by filling up the hole with water and put the plant in it and then bury it, usually ppl will water after bury the plant, so i wonder will it work on other plant as well, such as annual like marygold or cosmos?🤔
Hey,love your work and garden. I’am obsessed with Annabelle Hydrangeas and payed a fortune to create a hedge in the side of my home. This is their second year and they are growing well and starting to bud. What state in the US are you from. Your garden is very lush and green. Where I live it’s very hot, dry. Greetings from Sydney,Australia 🇦🇺 😀❤️
Im jealous you have blooms on your Annabelle Hydrangeas! I have 2 i planted 4 years ago they are in shade next to a dogwood. I have never got blooms on them 😣 I chopped them all the way to the ground last fall. The a full beautiful but still no blooms. So this fall im gonna try and dig them up and move them. Im giving them one more year and then they are out of here if they don't bloom next year. Your garden is beautiful! Nice job!
This my first look at your video, and your property is lovely. If you or anyone in the comments could tell me how I could divide a huge bushy three foot tall hydrangea. I grew this from a small root I got from my daughter, and I don't want to kill it. Thanks.
Hi Jes, you have so many beautiful hostas! What is the name of the hosta in front of the dead tree? It looks like there are more of them to the right of it. The dark green foliage, with the creamy white center is so striking. Thank you!
LOL thank goodness! I know, I haven't really been out there much. My husband lent his chainsaw to someone we are waiting for him to get it back so we can cut it!
Mine is very very old and very very big, im z4, i think ill try digging alot of it up and transplanting to another area.. its so big it wont hurt it. Do it in the fall??
Honey! I was the one to young Gardner but now at 55 I value my feet and shoes really matter try gardening and some thing more than flip-flops you’ll be glad
I just don’t get it… I can tell you live in my area, you must have deer!! How are you able to keep your hostas and hydrangeas??!! Do you do any consulting, I needs some advise on a new garden bed😀
I do have deer! To be honest they don't touch my stuff in the growing season i think because theres more daylight and activity in my area and so they just go somewhere else to eat. The winter is a different story. They destroy so many things in the winter, im still trying to figure out how to deal with them. So far I just learn the things they eat and don't plant them :(
Hi there! We are in Michigan zone 4/5. My soil varies depending on where you are in my yard LOL. But on the south side of my Gully garden its super dry. Down further towards my back yard its super rich and black. To be honest I've never tested it before so I have no idea what the acidity level is. Im blessed to have pretty good soil for the most part so I don't think about it too much! Thanks for watching!
