I use the Dot for surface baits and Spider for sloppy zig mix. Dot has never failed to open unlike others. Spider never gets me wet on the cast with sloppy mix.
The airbomb is brilliant at surface fishing at range for getting the floaters out if you can hit the clip quite high you get a lovely scattering of floaters and the airbomb doesn't spook the carp as it lands well away from them . I do like the look of the spider spomb though tight lines from the NORTHERN CARP FREAKS RU-vid 🎣🎣👍👍
Spider spod easy the best tried them all. You can retrieve the thing with the rod under the water. No wetting of spool. Flies out and opens every go even if you hit the clip too hard.
Spomb solved the 'spod showers' issue and much more. If you develop a product like this, with the amount of investment and R&D required, then marketing costs, tackle shop margins...it's a challenge without the bottomless resources of PLC's like Nash. However you skin it, these 'rivals' would not be around had it not been for the original spomb design. Spombs aren't overpriced, barely cost more than the Korda Spod rockets and were a British innovation from a small UK company. They were trying to protect their IP which is fair enough. A v.good angler working with Korda smashed up a rival's 'crusher' stand because it resembled their product too closely - both of which were based on weed grinders. So I can understand Mr&Mrs Spomb's frustration.
They (spomb) sold over 100k units in their first year, that's at least 10 million turnover not bad on a single products first outing ,the cats eye of the carp world. At least they delivered when they said they would, unlike being dangled on a string for a year like foxes disappointment. Dot spod still pisses all over the lot,why wouldn't another company want a bit of the action/competition (pie). What's going to be the next big thing I wonder?
I dont know why so many people have problems with the fox one. I've got thousands of casts on mine and apart from it not opening everytime with lighter particle it's been perfect
Sorry to say this, but the spider spod is absolut crap, you can't use it with small particles, it will open before impact every second cast, or you can't close it
All these hundreds of hours of tackle “reviews” and the only actual comparison video relates to nigh on identical spods. Why don’t any of you fannies discuss Basia vs Technium reels? Free Spirit vs Century vs Harrison rods? Japanese vs Brit rods? Delkim vs Fox Alarms?
