@@lilygrace5924 you have to admit, it was definitely an improvement. I betcha next time you do this it’ll be a full on store bought fancy cake standard
@@lilygrace5924 yess ofc they’re really entertaining. You could do it at the same time as a Q and A or something. Or you can do a competition with Hayley or Will or Georgia or one of your friends.
As a baker this whole video I was talking to my phone screen trying to tell Lily want to do, how to do it 🤣 and also that the cookies were gonna spead out so using the cookie cutters again after baking would have got them back to shape Also the cake icing needed to be butter icing/ butter cream, to have kept its shape 😅
hey lily, very cute baking video hahaha I always enjoy your energy and wholesome vibes. A few baking tips; the icing was runny because it was royal icing. this is better used with very thin piping tips for letters etc. Next time try buttercream or italian meringue icing!! also make sure your cake is as cold as possible before icing it. secondly, to make the cake flatter you could bake two separate cakes, slightly flatten the tops and sandwich together using buttercream, with the bottom side of the top cake facing up. fill in the gap between the cakes with more buttercream (this is where that metal scraper would come in handy). this way you have a flat cake while keeping the height! you can either eat the remaining scraps, or you could make cake pops which are super easy. oh and lastly, maybe transport the cake in a cooler bag or with some ice blocks around it lol. Please do more baking vids! they're super fun to watch
Hi lily! It also helps if you level the cake out by removing the crust that way the icing also holds better to the cake 🙃 THIS WAS WAS SO WHOLESOME AND SWEET TO WATCH ❤❤❤
Hi lily, I'd you think that your icing is too runny try using butter cream frosting because it is much more firmer. And makes sure the cake has cooled down enough cause the the frosting won't melt. Hope this helps💛
helpful tip: when u bake, and it's time to put the batter in, don't put baking sheet, that's if your baking a heart shaped cake. Because trust me, it doesn't end well. When you put baking sheet on your heart shaped(or any shaped) cake pan, it won't end up like the shape you want it to be. Better to spray with oil. And also it's more eco friendly. Just a helpful tip. Been baking for many years, even though that part took me awhile to realize. Also love your vlogs and videos. Tell Georgia I said "Hi" love her video's too. Your doing so great, keep up the good work.
ideas: -go through your closet but talk abt ur clothes not answering questions from insta - THRIFT SHOPPING -online shopping unpackaging -regular everyday vlog
Hey lily, this was such a great video- kinda having a bad day and this made it so much better. A tip you could use is to use butter cream which is beating together icing sugar with the same amount of soften butter. You could also malt sugar into hot water, poke the cake many times with a squiwer (chopstick:)) and pour the sugar water on to make it really moist and flaverful. Love your vids so much❤
Taylor, happy 25th! We all love you and this cake that didn't turn out so well only shows how much effort you've put into making it special. You deserve the best!
When you ice and pipe cakes you need butter cream icing so it keeps it's shape also cutting of the top of the cake would have been better so it was all flat so the icing would of fallen off less
Tips for next time: do cut off the top swollen part, do a crumb layer with your buttercream icing. Then roll out some fondant nice and thing then lay it on top of the cake and flatten it all down. Then you can do the decorative icing bits 😊
Next time make a 'frosting' type icing which will have a similar consistency to buttercream without the need for egg whites. I usually do around 3 cups of powdered sugar, 80 grams of butter and a splash of milk (if you have vanilla extract put a teaspoon of that in too), it's the best icing for when you want to decorate cakes but don't want to waste anything or go out buying all this stuff x
Hi Lily! Fellow baker here, I suggest next time using buttercream icing as it’s a lot thicker and holds much better to the cake 🎂 It was quite an entertaining video to watch though I must say 🤣💕
Hi lily I made icing once and I just put in butter the sugar and a bit of milk that’s what my recipe said so maybe it was the recipe if u were using one and I’d say if u did this again cut the top off and get on of the flat knife things on tt just to spread it out better but I’m not qualified for this at all so if it’s another fail don’t blame me
Love this lily. Good effort I love your girlfriends aswell. I love your story time. And I would love to send you something to your P.O. Box. Love you girl. Keep it up
