TAKE A JOURNEY WITH ME THROUGH THE MONUMENTS OF A COUNTRY, THAT NO LONGER EXIST
So called "Spómeniks" are the monuments and memorials of Socialist Yugoslavia. Thier unusual shapes makes them unique objects of modern monumentalism. Mostly they are on remotest spots of former Yugoslavia, lost in the Forests & Mountains, well protected from touristic crowds.

The incredible Spomenik of Kadinjaca was a site I would have loved to drone however I was in an authorisation zone due to the nearby Ponikve aerodrome. Some really great shots, also it's not the touristic crowds that are the problem when it comes to them being kept in good condition, many Spomeniks I've seen as I've travelled across a lot of the Balkans now and spent a lot of time in Serbia are stained with graffiti from local youths, who in the smaller villages also vandalise the plinths many of the smaller ones stand on.

Symbolism is unity and freedom. Yugoslavia lberated itself almost without Allies help. And wars in 90's weren't caused by socialism but nationalism. Blaming Yugoslavia for Yugoslav wars is like blaming being born for having a cancer. Yagoslavia was life, nationalism is cancer.
