The first one as I think it's the funniest, I've probably seen it 50 times yet I laugh at the same jokes, can't say the same about the other two. I also notice different animation tricks every time I watch it and subtle animation details.

Season has so many iconic episodes

The only thing I didn't like about this film was the retcons of the origins of how they all met, there's multiple times in the older episodes that contradict how they met on this film. Everything else was fun.

Almost all of this can be explained lol. Sandy sends her younger self to kamp koral through time travel specifically to stop one of planktons schemes. So if you think about, technically both Tea at the treedome and kamp koral could be canon. Spongebob does not adopt Gary at camp, you are correct. He was likely not allowed to and later on adopted him once he became old enough as an adult. (this comes directly from Tom Kenny) Spongebob also addresses Mr. Krabs by name in Help Wanted, so its likely at least spongebob knows who he is. In kamp koral, mr krabs isnt as familiar with spongebob and even forgets his name in an episode. As for the squidward thing, I believe that was only a 30 second segment in Truth or Square. Funny how most people diss on truth or square and neglect it because its season 6 but will conveniently bring it up to prove a point about the canon of a kids show about a talking sponge. I guess the patrick-spongebob thing is a good point, but at the end of the day, spongebob canon constantly is changing. sorry if i sound aggresive lol, but im just really tired of people bringing up the same arguments about "canon"

Trust me, it takes 4 years on average to make an animated movie (5 years for this movie). It wouldn't take a year to rewrite an entire animated film. Not to mention, the name "It's a Wonderful Sponge" sounds awfully fitting for flashbacks. (as the title is a reference to It's a Wonderful Life, a movie which popularized flashbacks). I wouldn't be surprised if Hillenburg approved in the final story. Still though, the flashbacks are really scummy as Paul Tibbit said.

If you had seen the "It a wonderful sponge" plot you would know that Stephen would not have written it

The sene were Patrick holds up his hands and it’s in a heart shape was very cute too. Showing is appreciation for Spongebob. Some passion was put into this movie but it was completely washed away by the corporate greed...
