Saw these guys open for Type O Negative in Boston circa 97'. The version of Plowed I saw that night is the greatest live performance I have seen ever. Hands down.
Omg awesome love type O also..never saw them rip Peter..my nephews band opened for Sponge in NYC small venue I’m blank on mane right now..his band is called Aways Away..it was amazing
I absolutely believe this. Sponge was a very tight band during the Wax Ecstatic days. This was probably an incredible show, as October Rust is in my Top 100 albums of all time.
I'm from West Michigan, and I got to see Sponge a number of times over the years in Grand Rapids. They always rocked it. I was very lucky to have been a teenager in the mid 90's, as we had a thriving rock scene here in GR, and I got to see a lot of great 90's alternative rock bands for free (or close to it). Sponge, The Verve Pipe, Papa Vegas....just in Michigan we had a lot of great bands. Those were the days!
D**n. Wish I could back to '95 again. To be 16 years old all over again. I had just started my very first job the summer of that year, at a grocery store, right after getting my drivers licence, and Rotting Piñata was the very first CD I bought, after getting my very first paycheck. I still own that album, too (not the same copy), and listen to it every so often. It's a great album, as is their second album, Wax Ecstatic. I love coming across stuff stuff like this on RU-vid, but d**n, does it not depress the f**k out of me, too. Both, because it reminds me of my age (I'm old AF!), and because it brings back so many great memories, too, which also ties into the whole age thing. Funny, and ironic, too, that when a lot of us are young, all we want to do is grow up, and get older, but then when we get there/here, all we want to do then is go back again. Man, Life is a vicious b**ch of a circle, isnt it?
One of the best grunge songs of all time. I met Vinnie right before Halloween last year and he was one of coolest musicians ive ever met. Same goes for joey mazzola there old guitarist who was surprised i even knew what sponge was
Plowed Sponge Will I wake up Is it a dream I made up No I guess it's reality What will change us Or will we mess up Our only chance to connect With a dream Say a prayer for me I'm buried by the sound In a world of human Wreckage I'm lost and I'm found And I can't touch the Ground I'm plowed into the sound To see wide open With a head that's broken Hang a life on a tragedy Plow me under the ground That covers the message That is the seed
I wouldn't go that far, but he probably could've enunciated the lyrics better in this. Here's a better one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qe9TDjLyvTY.html
@@daniell1125 Thanks for that, you're right much better. This performance guy was so out of breath, he had to "round off" words, or skipped them entirely.
@@daniell1125 "seems to be pretty cool with the fans though" Reminds me of seeing Iggy & the Stooges at Riot Fest; Dozen or so, Women run up on stage & Iggy never missed a note; just kept singing & accepting kisses on the cheeks; They all got a kiss on the cheek in on Iggy Pop and simply went back down to the crowd, happy as could be. Security & just the Women being nice about it was so cool, had people laughing, and just having a good time..
