Amongst the hype for Rehydrated, here's a Fun Fact: Within Squidward's dream, it's possible to spot sheet music plastered about the skybox. Upon further inspection, it appears to be "Solitude in E-Minor".
It would've been nice to play Patrick's intended dream level, but I think what they did instead due to time constraints was genius. It fits the character so well. It would've been perfect if they had him riding the horse in the dream episode of the show.
I'm amazed how much detail and effort Heavy Iron put into this game, even for the GameCube's measly 1.4GB disc size. The music is kick-ass, the worlds look detailed, the dialog is hilarious, and to think it was 2003 when this game was released.
The game on the gamecube is actually only 600-700 mbytes big, the rest of the disc is filled with junk data. many over gamecube games did the same thing.
Squidward hated SpongeBob so much that he made his dream a hell for players XD Patrick's infinitely expanded dark "void", or what I call as a Touhou fan "Rumia's sphere", is probably has the best design. Walking on one direction will eventually sends you to Patrick once again at a different angle. So mysterious and blank.
Miss Mayor Yeah it is, because that level was never finished and isn't even accessible without hacking.The level you're talking about right now is actually called Patrick's Mind, which is the big black void you get the free spatula in.
Did you know? Patrick's dream was originally going to be full of desserts and ice cream. But I'm guessing that they scrapped that due to time constraints. Hence why we get this simple, blank setup instead.
Starting at 0:32, you can hear the sound sample called "elves" taken from the Spectrasonic Distorted Reality 1 sample CD. That sound was also used in Zelda Majora's Mask for the Inverted Stone Tower Temple and was even found in the beta Dinosaur Planet/Star Fox Adventures N64 prototype, which was used as part of the beta theme for Dragon Rock!
Not gonna lie, when I was younger this level freaked me out a bit. There was just something ominous about it to me and the music didn't help. Awesome track though. My favorite song in the game.
Unused dialogue has Bubble Buddy say he Told SpongeBob "There was something odd" about the giant characters floating above their houses in this level. Were they meant to have a bigger role than just being decorations?

Sandy's Dream it was Fun Mr. Krabs' Dream it was Challenging but Fun at the same time Patrick's Dream it was Easy Squidward's Dream? SHOULD IT BE CALLED "SQUIDWARD'S NIGHTMARE" Because it was Really, Really HARD!!!
To me, Patrick's dream was the hardest. It was pitch black and there were obstacles to run toward and jump toward. I'm still having trouble trying to complete Patrick's Challenge.
so many fond memories playing this game, A childhood spent well playing this game, watching spongebob with my dad, and being a happy go lucky kid!, I do feel kinda bad for those who haven't experienced this wonderful masterpiece of a game, this is true videogaming at its peak, No call of duty can ever come up to be as good as this game, no minecraft, no Skyrim, and Even no Homestuck can match this games Quality graphics and all around happy vibe! I honestly think they should bring this original Title back in the future of 2015 or even 2016, nothing changes, nothing is added, nothing is removed, so this generation can grow up with the Awesome Fantasy that spongebob is! #bringbackbattleforbikinibottom!

I love how the beginning of this song starts off like the king jellyfish boss fight music and just goes into the dreamy vibe, yet still intense because there are robots in spongebobs dream. I wonder if they're remastering the music for rehydrated
I remember when I was 6 and I almost broke one of my controllers out of shear frustration because this game was soo hard! but the music forever plays in my head.
Does anyone know that Patrick had an unused dream level that focused on sweets and candy? This was supposed to be like Sandy's dream where you play as Patrick to get a golden spatula. The level lacked a skybox, which caused the models to rapidly duplicate. There are obstacles like cherries and onions, the onions are supposed to represent part of the sundae that gave SpongeBob the horrible breath in the episode Something Smells. There were tikis that used their old designs, which were the Thunder and Flying tikis. There are also floating robot enemies that won't attack you and there were NPCs too. In the final game, it was replaced with a black void with Patrick giving you the spatula right away.
Patrick: I challenge you to- Spongebob: Patrick, I... Patrick: Yes? Spongebob: I already solved the challenge. Patrick: You did? Then here's your rew- Spongebob: You already gave it to me. Patrick: I did? Then I challenge you to- Spongebob: Uh, Patrick, I've gotta go. Gary uh, needs another bath. Hehe, I always love doing that! I can't wait to do it again very soon in the remake! 😁
I liked this level a lot as a kid (especially sandy's dream) so I remember hearing this music a lot.... I'm replaying the game now and I just got to spongebob's dream last night and man this music is great

To my recollection, if you talk with Mr. Krabs one last time after he suggests they 'hoist anchor', he'll say something about playing the music in the background at the Krusty Krab.
While I find sandy's dream easy now, it was the hardest when I was younger. I always missed the jumps to go onto the next area and I'd always end up going in a continuous loop
Interestingly, each of the dream levels had a specific gameplay mechanic they focused on. Sandy's focused on sliding, while Squidward's focused on platforming, Mr. Krabs' focused on combat, and Patrick's focused on dialogue. (It's possible that, before they cut the more developed Patrick level, that it would've focused on puzzles.)
This placed freaked the shit out of me, and I have to admit, poor graphics scare me so the bad texturing in Sandy's house freaked the crap out of me when I was a kid.

Now that I'm sixteen, I can rightfully say that I not only have defeated every last one of those Ham-mer bastards, but that I also own the rights to the industrial park, the Poseidome, the Chum Bucket, the ass of every Sleepy-Time in existence, and Squidward's dreams! I raged so hard trying to beat Squidward’s dream when I was younger. I almost threw my controller trying to beat it and my mom had to keep telling me to calm down 😂
The first day I found out SpongeBob's Dream got a completely different background in Rehydrated, I was supremely disappointed. The next day afterwards, I immediately got over it and don't mind the change anymore (even if the older background was cool too).
