This was always one of the funniest episodes to me, especially all the parties they kept having that shit had me rolling as a kid

I have my theory that he knew the Bodyguard was the Strangler the whole time, since he nearly called him Bodyguard., as well as the invitations demanding just that many parties. Spongebob was just screwing with him all this time, just to mess him up. Oh, and the bit at the end you missed goes like this: Strangler: "Well, at least it can't get any worse." Patrick: "Hey, man." (Strangler turns to see he's sharing a cell with Patrick) "What are *YOU* in for?"

Alright I have a theory: Spongebob knew it was the strangler underneath that mustache, and was purposely strolling and torturing him until he cracked and ran away, eventually forcing him to prison. I think this is evident in the scene where he says “no problem, strangler- I mean bodyguard” and with the invitations he sent all his friends

Don't you find it strange that everyone are happy in the room despite the fact that the Tattletale Strangler is there in plain sight. I have a little theory about this... What if... the people of Bikini Bottom got the idea from Spongebob's obliviousness and the Strangler's struggle would give them a chance to make him snap? After every tough guy ran away after SpongeBob asked for help to defend him from the Strangler, that must've had spread word to everyone in Bikini Bottom and must've been concerned for him and wanted to help somehow. But because they are scared of him, they couldn't go near him without a 100 foot pole. They must have seen SpongeBob falling for an obvious disguise and thinking: "Oh no! He's going to be strangled!" But as they continued to watch SpongeBob and the Strangler together and witnessed how he was able to get on his nerves. Not to mention, getting hurt from the CLEETS. This showed a weak point for the people to strike back. Think about it, everyone didn't budged or looked scared during all those times they threw a "party." And whenever the Strangler is an itch close to strangle SpongeBob, they quickly run in and threw another party as if nothing happened. I believe they were hiding somewhere in the house watching to make sure SpongeBob didn't get strangled and kept a straight face while pretending they don't know the Strangler's there. Even after admitting to SpongeBob that HE IS THE STRANGLER. Because they knew he was at his breaking point. I also like to think Squidward threw in a subtle jab at him by going "Did someone say party?" XD
