Just graduated last year. Everyone I knew in school is pretty well gone. The only two friends I actually have that still hang around on occasion are the two feature on the channel from time to time. I see one or two class mates once in a good while but usually they’re in a hurry to get back to work or just passing through. I sometimes genuinely think I’m one of the only few that stayed behind in our little town while everyone else left for bigger pastures. I didn’t pay a rats ass in highschool didn’t want to then either. Looking back I regret it now and honestly I feel like if I put even half of an effort in I would’ve had a chance at college or at least better off education wise. And truthfully I miss it. At the time it felt like it would never end and now everyday driving through town to a job with little and practically no hours I think this is probably the quietest and emptiest I have ever seen this town. Before I graduated everybody would hang out behind the school in the staff parking lots from 8 until midnight. Hell we’d have blue tooth speakers people drag racing the length of the parking lot and there would be nerds, sporty kids, country folks, and even the weird quiet ones weren’t so weird and quiet it was almost every night. No one cared no police ever came back there, hell there were even cameras on the buildings but no one cared it was just what everyone did it was like a tradition for the school. I go back there now and not a single soul in sight other than the school buses. I used to detail my Jeep for hours and get it shining to show it off on those nights. I’m certain my class was the last to do it. And no I’m not some boomer rambling about the old days I just graduated last year. Just everything now seems so empty. And this song pretty well fits how it feels lol.

Leaving home was the best thing for me. Don't do college or enlist. But if you can, get out and see the world. It's going to shape you as a persob.
