I haven't been catching up with Spongebob for the last few years, but I did watch the Birthday Blowout. It's the best special Spongebob had in a while. Loved the scenes in the human version of the Krusty Krab. Stephen Hillenburg would be very proud of this.

@HorrorFan 1988 there will be a Season 12 episode, probably airing near Valentine's Day, called "Pat Hearts Squid" (confirmed by Vincent Waller that it won't be an LGBT episode), so the third one may not happen. P.S. I'm saying this because Season 12: A)Gave Plankton and Karen a baby. And B)I think that at the end of "My Two Krabses"(episode 259a) Mr. Krabs will probably marry Mrs. Puff. So I hope that at the end of "Pat Hearts Squid", with Patrick's help, Squidward actually gets a permanent girlfriend.

@HorrorFan 1988 I honestly think that SpongeBob and Sandy will remain single by the end of the show Specially since the crew that REALLY loves the three core dynamics: 1)Best Friends: Patrick and SpongeBob. 2)Opposites: Squidward and SpongeBob. 3)Father and Son: Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob.

100% agree. Big Birthday Blowout manages to actually have heartwarming moments, takes all the effort it can to celebrate the show, and is a good love letter to the creator and the fans. Truth or Square on the other hand was mostly a compilation of pointless scenes from episodes that never happened and was a filler episode

I like it. I like how the background characters having a larger role works since they actually had some semblance of a character other than memes (*cough Slice of Life).I like how they don’t overdo many obnoxious traits of the characters. I like how this special feels like a true celebration of Spongebob rather than a “look at this extended regular episode”.

I actually never realized the guy in the blue shirt with the dog was Thomas Wilson, the guy who played Biff Tannen in Back to the future. He also played Flats, The Strangler, and Reg in the show.

I know it will never happen, but I'd love to see a spin off of the rusty slab and stuff. Tom Kenny AS spongebob was pure perfection to me. I say "it'll never happen" mainly because for it to be not "nickified" it would have to be given to another network, and nick isn't going to give up their cash cow. It's nice to think about though. JimBob Humanpants would be an amazing series.

Aparently, since "Plankton Paranoia" he has been given that name (acorrding to that episode's the credits). With "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout" being the first time he's ever called like that.

I’ve only seen the episode once, so I don’t really have a solid opinion on the special at the moment, but if there’s one thing about the Special I liked, it was all the rare cameos. And while I expected there to be an In Memory portion at the end for Steven, I’m Glad they did it. I couldn’t think of this special ending any other way.

It was a great special! My favourite aspects were the many character cameos and I loved to point them out. I also loved how alive the actors were playing the Krusty Krab characters. You did a really good review on it!

While truth or square makes it unclear whether spongebob is "real" or not, other episodes featuring patchy show him sending letters to spongebob such as the episode where spongebob throws a house party. I remembered that they made a joke that patchy didn't think about the effect water would have on letters written in ink.
