​@Justin Oviedo Yugi had emptied his hand the turn prior before topdecking Celtic Guardian, using Heart of the Underdog to draw 4 more normal monsters and Pot of Greed, using it to get 2 cards, Monster Reborn and Slifer. Used both of them so his hand size was 5. 5000 ATK is correct

Great video. Too bad Patrick doesn't realize that Slifer's ability can affect all God cards, so Obelisk will lose 2k attack strength. I was watching Yugi Vs Kaiba recently, that reminded me.

Actually it should have been a 2000 atk monster, Slifers passive would have triggered on summon

@@xakannax Obelisk is unaffected by all effects, be it monsters or spells/traps, not to mentioned shares Silfer's ability of no effects working when it's normal summoned. As for the difference in attack, Obelisk can be used to sacrifice 2000 LP to destroy all your enemies' monsters. Can't attack that same turn but I'm sure something could be figured out.

@@randomlyentertaining8287 thats not accurate, in the Card Game Obelisk is only unable to be targeted, he has no other immunity other than his summon effect , in the TV show they claimed he was unaffected by other cards in season 2 but yugi's final duel vs the pharaoh he was able to bounce slifers effects back onto the other god cards using magnet force and it worked on all of them so that was clearly not true. You are right that in the card game he has the effect "When normal summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated". I forgot that he had that when i posted above i was focused on the fact that slifers effect is a mandatory trigger effect that doesn't target and cannot be skipped so obelisk wouldn't be immune to it, I don't know the exact rulings for mandatory triggers vs cannot respond to summon eff, since you also cannot skip a mandatory trigger so its possible i was wrong (i am having a hard time finding a ruling for that ngl, not enough people played the god cards in tournaments etc i guess :/)
