"Spooky" was originally an instrumental song performed by saxophonist Mike Sharpe (Shapiro) and was written by Shapiro and Harry Middlebrooks. Dusty Springfield recorded her cover of this song in spring of 1970.

I'm sure you've noticed that you have a good many "vintage" followers. It may be because your voice has a quality about it that takes us back to another time. Hearing your voice affects me every bit as much the voices of Judith Durham of The Seekers, Janet Vogel of The Skyliners, Mary Hopkin, and Connie Francis. Modern digital audio is great but I'd love to have a stack of Allison Young 45's loaded up on an old record player! lol

I adore your backing vocals! Tasty electric piano licks, too. I loved this song, the Classics IV and Dusty versions (and I have to give a nod to the Ventures' awesome instrumental version though it's really a medley of Spooky/Traces/Stormy) so much I named one of my cats Spooky years ago. I didn't know Dusty did this song I knew The Classics IV and I really like Dusty Springfield and her song writing brother but I absolutely love your version. I just found your videos today and tomorrow I'm going to watch all your posts. I think this is how I felt when I was 13 and heard The Beatles for the first time. You've acquired a fan who is thrilled with your talent and even tho I'm 70 this has happened at exactly the time I needed it.
