Hooting/whooping if not an owl, is either a person trying to sound like a sasquatch (SAM-SQUATCH for those familiar with Bubbles), or an actual sasquatch.
i do alot of camping in the woods year round, the car horn might have been to signal a lost hunter that his partner is back to the car, i hear tons of animals while camping in deep woods, so many species have many different sounds than normal, frogs, deer, bobcats, owls, foxes, coyotes water fowl sometimes all have different vocal sounds. some sound like a women screaming! i love it!

I’ve found that when you hear strange noises in the woods whilst camping it’s best to run straight at them emitting a high pitched scream, you will almost always get results.👍
So I'm guessing, those orange ribbons are someone's marked path to there hunting spot . You can only use blinds, climbers or ground hunt on state land.
Waited for after sundown to watch this one, as is appropriate. I also have the highly appropriate Halloween snack of... uh, Pizza Goldfish crackers which, at least to my knowledge, taste of neither pizza _nor_ goldfish. Truly a spooky mystery for the ages. Lots of fun, lots of legitimately weird moments, lots of hot dogs. _Lots_ of hot dogs. No wonder you slept like a rock! Y'all are braver than this gal is, though. If I had hit the "noises sound like they're coming from all around us" moment, I'd be camping back in the car, thank you very much!

I was on an island in Miami , we was smoking and drinking , someone noticed all the trolls running around us just out of the lighted area , we all freaked out and left , took me several years to figure out it was black cormorants that were spying on us ,Lol , 😅Eckrich is popular in the south
@@smallplots as it turned out , the island was a mating area and at night a lot of them would be running all over the place like penguins or something, but the were staying just outside the fire lighted area and it freaked us out

haha i don't mind the taste, but for camping they're perfect and compact. Hotdog buns take up a lot of space, especially when you're rocking a 25L bag!

You really should be wearing hunters orange, but i guess medium blue is bright enough also lol. Well, since you ripped part of your hammock, you have an excuse to replace it with the new one. Ofcourse. Keep the old one for just incase. I keep my old one and my old 2person tent in my Jeep for just incase moments.

Some of the Barred Owl calls (mating?) sound exactly like a monkey BUT their mating isn't this early in the year. Ok that's enough talk about bird fucking. Great vid as always!!!!!
Barred owl mating call sounds like a monkey 🐒 when I read about it online it says they breed December to March. I guess there could be a one off though. Loved this video

That was an excellent adventure. By the way, I have a crank weather radio that has an emergency siren that sounds like what you described. The sound carry’s a long way through the trees. Might’ve been that??
if it is a barred owl, it would definitely be an irregular sound that I've never heard it make and no video on youtube of barred owl calls has shown. I'm leaning towards someone messing with us
I guarantee, never...never would I take Shawn with me in the woods. He seems nice enough, but then.....he is the kind of guy you would want to cuddle up with, but instead of protecting you, he takes out his "unfinished I am still proving my manhood" business on you by scaring you. Romance ends right there.

Thats a crazy sound, and they do live around here, but that wasn't it. It was almost definitely a person or a barred owl who was making an irregular sound
I Googled Eckrich foods just for kicks and its legit,started by German immigrant Peter Eckrich in Ohio,,lol.enjoy!..they make cold cuts and hot dogs and that type of foods.
