Great stonework on both the bunker and the house. The ceiling with the steel shutter and vertical pipe is more than likely a radio mast that is retractable. We still use collapsible masts now. Finding 2 Siemans and an AEG junction block with cables attached is great. Now if they would have just left the lids. The couch in the house was a 1950s vintage, I had an aunt with one almost identical to that one. The place is quite complex and not the run of the mill gun emplacement. Great work and video, stay safe out there. Waiting for part 3 now.

The details of the fire and control bunker were interesting. That place would definitely be hard to spot from the air. They put a lot of thought into building retaining walls to soften the shock wave of an explosion. The cabin would be nice to fix up and use as a summer home. The weather would probably be to harsh to live there in the winter. No telling what you would find if you cleaned it out.

Love that Firing Control Bunker. Love the way they didn't just stick rocks into the concrete but actually expended the effort to shape the surface to make it look more natural. Really nicely done. And love that stone and concrete barrack building. It must have been the central building among the other wooden barracks, perhaps for the officers or NCO's. Pity it's been trashed, and filled with so much Post-War rubbish, by the last inhabitants. Still, an awesome looking building and still standing. Loving this area. Looking forward to the next video! Cheers to you all!

The fire control bunker sculpting on the outside was very effective. The multistory interior was interesting and I wonder if it had a twin somewhere on the Atlantic wall. I thoroughly enjoy your escapades into the past and you provide great stories to accompany what we are seeing. It is very rare that you show and describe what the Germans had for power generation or water source/containment at these locations. I would think that such a massive control site and the many gun emplacements as this one has would have had quite a large generator and water containment. Maybe even a well! I know that such things may not have the interest that gun emplacements have but still, they are part of the story and the history. Another well done episode, Bravo Zulu.

Happy New Year History Hunter, Bunker Buster Girl and Eagle Eyes. May you be blessed with the best adventures yet in this new year. What a nice video to start the new year off with. What a beautiful location to explore. To bad the machine of war had to scar it with weapons of war. The fire and control bunker was like something that I had never seen before. There was another one of your video that showed a command bunker with many different levels but more than this one had. The house was very interesting also. It would have been nice if who ever lived there after the war would have taken all there junk with them. All those ovens need to be a museum. I know you get excited but if you could pan the camera a little slower would give me a better chance to take in everything. Great video tho. Keep them coming.

The cabinet at 18:53 is a military wall locker. This is the double version, likely an officer or Feldwebel had that one. Most soldiers got a single version (just like the left side). I own one of the latter that I use for storage. They were in use well after the war - same basic design. I see the rear air vents in this one, but the doors normally also had a vent in the top panel.

Thanks! Hi EE, great find with the fire & control bunker. Well designed with the rock blockage preventing any blasts from coming in. Thank you for taking us inside. Too bad you couldn't take the Hutchinson's wheel for the Schneider Gun outside of the German Barracks. I could see why the Barracks could be reported as being haunted, pretty spooky looking. Solid stone and rock foundation, looked like it would be quite cozy for the soldiers. Yes, wonder if some of those clothes were some sort of military uniforms? Did you ever find out HH? The proof was in the German field rations container. Hans, Reinhardt, or Helmut could have eaten out of the metal container at one point for sure. Thank you for taking us inside HH & EE. Happy New Year!

I've been subscribed for a few years now and watched multiple adventures of you. Is there or are there any places that stayed with you as one of your favorite places you have visited.. I know you been to many places but I am sure you got some that really stood out?

Well to be honest , the ones that made the most impressions are the ones which took us by surprise. Places that we never researched or knew anything about but ended up learning us so much. We have been to many such locations so i cant single out any specific. Thanks Rob.

From the looks of things I'm guessing that people were living in this old barracks after the war and probably for quite some time afterwards.

Thanks! The German Barracks did look spooky. With those uniforms or coveralls there do you think squatters might have stayed there 🤔? The German soldiers had everything tbey needed in that Barrack. The field rations container will clean up nicely. Wish they could have put the Hutchinson wheel for the Schneider Gun in a museum before it deteriorated. The Fire & Control Bunker looked like a turtle from the outside. Will laid out. Enjoyed your running commentary in the background EE. Thanks for taking us in those structures. Stay safe you two.
