I grew up not far from there, my mum still live there so I'm back often and will make an effort to hike to this spot again. I belive that it was built to house the staff for the waterworks in one half with one half made available for shooting parties and gamekeepers.

The national Trust, 3 water companies and the peak district authority own the land. I think this property is owned by one of the water companies.
