So I originally wanted to make this video when the show ended a year ago, but I'm glad I waited. The song I'm using here is "Don't Fight It" by 10 Years, which I kept adding to my Catradora playlist and then removing as the likelihood of their reconciliation fluctuated over the show's run. Looking back, there was never any doubt that these two would fall back into each other, even though they did fight it, tooth and nail, until their personal growth as characters turned them into healthier, more fully realized versions of themselves who could accept that they could love and be loved in return.
I'm also glad I waited until both my skill as a video editor and the hardware I was working with improved to the point where I could do this concept justice. When I started making videos I was working with Windows Movie Maker of all things, because it was free and had a relatively surmountable learning curve. I learned a lot of lessons about editing within that limited toolset that I don't think would have stuck as well if I'd had access to something like Adobe Premiere from the beginning. For one thing, I have such a thorough mental catalogue of this show that I know instinctively which bits will flow into each other and sync with the music no matter what song I'm using.
Anyway, happy one-year anniversary to the finale of a show that genuinely changed my life. Thank you to everyone who's shown their support for these videos along the way; it means the world to me.
