Yep, Bowling is simple on the outside but complex in the inside.

they should do this with ej tacket or tommy jones
@iwasadeum
@iwasadeum 8 лет назад
I'd prefer TJ to EJ, as I do not understand how TJ threw it so hard and with so many revs - his style is so smooth compared to a typical cranker.

Yeah, but personally i prefer Mike Fagan, he threw it extremely smooth and lots of revs

And people say bowling isn’t a sport. Look at all the weight and force your joints endure. And, if your like me and you have a five step approach, take those five steps and multiply it by ten frames. And obviously perfect games are EXTREMELY rare. So you may need to multiply five times two for each frame. That’s ten steps. Then times that by three games of league. That’s easily about 1,000+ steps. You know how many calories that burns? That’s just the physical aspect of it. There’s so much geometry involved in bowling. Even for those who bowl straight instead of hooking. It’s exactly like basketball players using geometry to shoot the ball into the goal. Or golfers drawing a line so they know where to aim the ball. Bowlers have to draw a line in their head for where they want the ball to go. Then if they execute correctly. They have to remember EXACTLY what they did the last shot in order to recreate what just happened. Take all this information in and then try and tell me bowling isn’t a sport.

Power Tweener: 300-400 rpms Cranker: 400+ rpms Sean Rash: 550 rpms
@iOxideAUS
@iOxideAUS 7 лет назад
@matt no, RPMs dont determine your style, you can be a cranker with few revs, its just the fashion that you literally "crank" the ball at the bottom of the swing.
@humanistangelino9681

Stroker: 200 - 300 rpms Tweener: 300 - 375 rpms Power Tweener: 375 - 430 rpms Cranker: 430 - 700+ rpms Sean's actual rev rate isn't actually even 500 its 420 rpms so power tweener

You should give a realationship between the physical movement and force to how precis you have to be in the pocket to strike (including entry angle) It's not that you have to get the ball to the pocket, but it has to be an exact entry angle to have the best shot at striking

@The77Game
@The77Game 8 лет назад
+Justin Evans Well since we're looking at some data behind bowling i assumed that someone being more amazing would mean having some impressive data. I still don't see how Tommy would be more amazing or fun to look at in this. I really like both bowlers but it don't think one has a more amazing style than the other. Except for Jones putting his thumb in first. That IS special.

His ball speed is about 20. His RPM is about 450. The average bowler is not 300rpm. Its probably way less

2:50 His ball is not breaking 18" to the pocket, the pocket is on the 17-18th boards, his ball would have to be on the edge or in the channel to break that much.... it looks like it might be breaking maybe 10" or so (7th board to the 17th board)

God if he was still alive then why would they not use Jimmy Keeth, they didn't call him "The Rocket" for nothing, you think "Maximum Bob" Robert Smith had power, Jimmy Keeth had it in the late 80s/early 90s, with a double-jointed right hand, and at 5'11" and only 165 lbs. back then you might not think of him as a power player, but he was, and should've won more than just once (1992 Tums Classic, Windsor Locks, CT), R.I.P.

@EFishingful
@EFishingful 8 лет назад
The video says he can bowl up to 30.
@RayJacksonbighmw
@RayJacksonbighmw 8 лет назад
+Ethan Fisher that 30 mph estimate would be on his spare shots using both a "dropped-wrist" technique (his wrist is actually broken back to what we call a "kill" position) and while using his spare ball, and no, he does not get a 550 rpm when he throws that spare attempt, but, he can probably get up to 30 mph on it. Check out Osku Palermaa's one-handed spare shots or even Robert "Maximum Bob" Smith, Eugene McCune or the late Jimmy Keeth if you want to see fast spare shots!!! On the other hand, his strike ball (first ball) though, the speed is about 18-19 mph with an almost 550 rpm rate, so there is a difference. I myself, on the other hand, can only get to 19 mph on my spare attempt with my wrist position in the kill mode, my strike ball, with my wrist in the cupped position, is only about 14-16 mph at best, but, and with hardly any rev rate on it due to a lack of hand/wrist strength, due to lack of practice, (mine would be slightly under 200 rpm), not even close to what Sean Rash gets on his.
@WLLoo

Ray Jackson its probably all technique, not so much strength. look at jason belmonte. he looks like a short weakling but he can bowl 22mph with 550 rpm.

Carlos Piorro Without getting mad, bowling with fingertips is hard and you have to make mental adjustments in your head. You heard it that weight for a split second is like the weight of a rhino, so I would like to see you bowl.
@JD-ju9kg
@JD-ju9kg 5 лет назад
Bowling requires a lot more skill, a lot more athletic ability, and a lot more mentality, than you probably have. So unless you've only bowling 300 ever since you found the sport, you better pull your head out of your ass.

You clearly have no sense of what the word Sport entails if you think bowling doesn’t classify as one.
