They used to be crapboxes and still kind of are. They provide good value but are easy to steal and look strange. Most stolen vehicles in the U.S are Hyundais.
@@xain9321 Looks are subjective, Hyundai is more reliable than Nissan and every American brand, them getting stolen is mainly an issue in the older generations, only bad thing that I hear is that the customer service for warranty claims are bad
Another car to consider (which Miles also reviewed the pre-facelift of) is the Kia K5 GT. It is essentially the same car as the Sonata N-line wrapped in a different package. The interesting difference between the two are options and pricing. The K5 GT starts roughly $2,000 less than the N-Line. However, the K5 GT can be optioned with a $4,400 “GT1 package” which once optioned makes the car $2,000 more than the N-line. So there is actually a solution for some of the features Miles is complaining are missing on the Sonata N-line: just get a K5 GT lol. Here is what that “GT1 package” gets you: 12.3-inch Curved Instrument Display Digital Key 2 Bose® Premium Audio System w/ 12 Speakers Active Sound Design 19-inch Alloy Wheels, Gloss Black Finish Driver's Seat & Outside Mirror Integrated Memory System 10-Way Power Passengers's Seat w/ 2-Way Power Lumbar Adjustment Ventilated Front Seats Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist-Reverse Surround View Monitor Blind-Spot View Monitor Side Parking Sensors Power-Folding Side View Mirrors Power Windows w/ One-Touch Auto-Up/Down Rear seat air vents
It traps 106mph+ in the 1/4 mile in good conditons. Thats similsr to a B58 540i Xdrive, Charger R/T, Stinger GT AWD, and a Type R. People always clamour about the 2.0T Accord but its nowhere near as good as the Sonata Nline. I use to think the 2.0T was great but now i thinks its kind meh for a turbo 4. Id rather have an older V6 accord or Sonata/K5 2.5T
Trap speeds ive seen were around 102-104mph which is similar to the kia k5 and charger RTs. The others are lil quicker. Still good value for the money.
It's perfect for a mature man (anyone over 40, I'm 72) who does not want to look like a "boy racer," while still having a good-looking family cruiser, with a powerful engine and good handling. Can you please give your professional opinion on how the car handles. Remember, the Sonata N Line was never meant to complete with the Elantra N.
@@Vffr1 I am sure you're having a great time. I have to be careful; the Sonta N Line is quiet inside. Before I know it, I'm doing 70 mph. While the Elantra N may not be as quiet as my Sonata N Line, but I'm sure you need to be careful as well. Before you know it, you could be doing 95 mph.
@@MilesPerHr no, thank you! This is the exact car I’m buying in 3 months and really wanted a *good* car reviewer with lots of experience to try it out, I’m more than ecstatic that you got to driver ‘er around! Definitely solidifying my choices! ❤️
Currently leasing a ‘23 Sonata NLine & so pleased with it that I’m looking forward to leasing a ‘25 next year in lieu of the G80 Sport I highly considered. Coming from Infiniti and Lexus/Toyota, although it’s missing a few luxurious amenities to which I’m accustomed, I’m pleased with the overall package for the money - definitely a solid vehicle ………… and a true sleeper, too.
The Sonata has surely come a long way! I used to own a Sonata! Except it was 21 years and 300,000 miles older 🤣 As far as this new one goes, I like the rear end a lot! I also like the way the seats look! Nice review Miles!
Rear-seat air vents, and Homelink were removed for the '24 MY N-Line, costcutting....? Anyhoo...I'd definitely choose the N-Line over the Camry and Accord. It's on my shortlist to replace my '17 Elantra Sport; fantastic car by-the-way!
I actually appreciated this video. Picking mine up tomorrow morning. One video I saw, I was ready to ask him if he was being paid to put down the car. I saw it and had to have it.
The Sonata N Line was never supposed to compete with the Elantra N Line. The Elantra N I would say is for a younger crowd. The Sonata N Line is perfect for those over 40 bunch like me. The car has a good ride, it's very roomy for both front and rear passengers, it's quiet, it's quick, and it handles well enough to have a fun.
I don’t get why Hyundai got rid of the 1.6t engine for this refresh. I had a pre refresh Sonata 1.6t Limited as a rental car when I went to Tennessee a couple years ago. It was a pretty good motor and surprisingly, I didn’t need to put in a lot of fuel before returning it which showed how well the fuel economy was for the few days I had it.
I'm in Australia and have registered for a class action against Hyundai for that 1.6T engine. Apparently people with a lot of issues. I've owned an Elantra Sport for 6 years with that engine and not had an issue myself. But I'd say that's why it suddenly disappeared.
the front body reminded me of a 2024 kona or a 2024 bayon lol, despite the futuristic looks the car is crazy and in the hands of miles? Wohoo. appriciate the hyunda miles!
Too bad that it doesn't have adaptive suspension and lsd like elentra N . Yet the price is more then elentra. I read somewhere sonata will be 4wd n-line (performance)
It seems Hyundai went down on the luxury in this refresh. Came with Conv Pkg on SEL trim and SEL+ had them as standard. *IIRC*, the N Line even had ventilated seats, and Limited even offered heated rear seats at one point.
I'd love to see what you think about the refreshed K5 GT compared to this thing! Loved the review. There are definitely some good changes for this refresh, although I am kinda over the full light bar trend already 😂 apart from that, it looks like a super fun sedan!
Seeing 3 teslas at the same red light is WILD to me and it's part of the reason I'll never get one. Also, when you get to the parts where you start pushing the cars, you should shut off the AC. Drains immense amounts of power.
Drive one and you’ll reconsider. I was thinking the same, but i test drove the SNL (2023 model) and it was too tame which made it feel quite boring compared to the EN. I did love the seats though. Super comfortable.
Why every car reviewer wants to drive it as if it was a civic type r? Its a family sedan with extra power for when you might need it. It does not need a LSD. You dnt drive your family around on curvy roads recklessly. Thats why its not a Sonata N. 👍🏻
Sadly, all the vehicles in this "sporty" not "sport" sedan segment get only a dusting of true performance hardware. I think if anyone came out with something in this segment that had an LSD, it would be tremendous.
Not sluggish at all I've kept up with a corvette c8 on the highway in and out through cars etc. It gets down if you're a good driver and u use manual with paddleshifters
What's wrong with the editing of this video, it feels rushed and bad. Go to 4:00 minute mark that says "It does have apple car play and Android au--- and then gets cut off. Be aware Miles! Can't let the quality drop.
