If you want a crazy college baseball score, Georgia Southern beat Louisiana-Monroe 35-8. Georgia Southern had two eight-run innings, including the bottom of the eighth when all the starters and veterans came out and the bench mafia took over. They scored in seven of the eight innings they played (they were the home team, so no bottom of the ninth). 35 runs. In eight innings of college baseball.
August 12, 2008 Boston, MA. Red Sox score 10 runs in the first inning thanks to TWO David Ortiz 3-run home runs, but needs an 8th inning home run from Kevin Youkilis to win 19-17.
Tragic, really. The Red Sox' starting pitcher that game was making his major league debut, and even with that huge early outpouring, he ended up with a no-decision (though even if Texas hadn't ever taken the lead, they ended up pulling him two outs shy of the 5 innings needed to qualify for the win). The tragedy? He never got called up again. That one start, in which his offense staked him to a 10-0 lead in the first inning but he was only able to go 4⅓ innings allowing 8 runs, was the entirety of Charlie Zink's major league career.
I vividly remember watching that game. What a roller coaster. The Rangers of that era had an insane offense so I was still a little worried the Sox would blow it
I remember not too long ago there was an NBA preseason game that ended with one team doubling up the other. Still hasn't happened again in the regular season though.
I still have flashbacks to that Geelong vs Melbourne game. Geelong in that era had one of the GOAT lineups, and Melbourne...seriously, even hardcore AFL fans couldn't name 5 of their players that day. What was more insane was that Melbourne weren't even bad up to then. They were in the middle of the table and still in contention for finals. After the game, their coach was sacked. For the next three seasons Melbourne completely crashed. They only won 10 of their 66 games in that period. They wouldn't make finals again until 2018, and actually got to the preliminary final...only to become the first team in 91 years to be held goalless at halftime in a finals match. They collapsed again in 2019, but fortune finally smiled on them: they won their first premiership in 57 years in 2021...only to become the first team in history to go out in straight sets (make top 4, lose both finals matches) in two consecutive seasons.
Ooh, thanks for the shoutout. I don't know if this is crazy, but Jaguars beating Dan Marino's Dolphins 62-7 in Marino's final game. Or 1988 tennis, Steffi Graf winning 6-0, 6-0 in 32 minutes. Or Secretariat won the 73 Belmont Stakes by 31 lengths to win triple crown.
I was watching a Knicks-Nuggets game where the Knicks very very nearly held the Nuggets to 0 points for an entire quarter. But they SOILED IT at the end
There was a baylor washington U bowl game I think the year before RGIII's heisman year that had a similar if not higher score. One of the most fun sport events I've ever seen.
South Dakota State vs Iowa Football 2022. A very unassuming 7-3 score that turn upside down when you find out Iowa scored *no touchdowns* to get 7 points
Wake Forest 6 Virginia Tech 3 F 2OT Nov. 22 2014 This game was tied 0-0 at the end of regulation. An NCAA Division I football game in the 2010s featured zero points scored in regulation.
This is an amazing video, well done. I do have a suggestion for a game with an odd score. September 13, 2008, Auburn Tigers vs Mississippi State Bulldogs in college football, the final score of this game was 3-2, literally. I watched this game and it got a ton of baseball references from it. I thought I would suggest this one to you. Have a great day, and I am subscribing to your channel, it's very interesting videos you have here.👍👍👍
There were a few mistakes in here, but still a fun video. The narrator said that the Yankees made it to the 2004 World Series just before showing a scoreline featuring St Louis and Boston in that Series.
Honestly the dolphins not going for the point record is a huge miss. It would have been beneficial for the entire league if they could say the all time scoring record was broken.
Interesting how McDaniel didn't try to score more on the Broncos, but lost 2 defensive starters for the season in garbage time later on when they should've been on the bench.
you got both Tennis players' names wrong. John Isner and Nicholas Mahut. John Isner some years later had a match in the semifinals of Wimbledon that went like 28-all in the final set, and the year after that Wimbledon finally added a rule that matches go to a tiebreak at 12-12. Also Mahut is French so the t is silent
The 70-68 just seems impossible. I watched bits of it, but no one has that kind of time on their hands (except the two involved who likely could have done without it).
Not professional but a video on rotblatt could be really interesting. It takes place at Carleton college where they add one more inning for each year that the school has been open
@@floppacapsbut the 99/00 Vikings trailed 49-17 vs Rams and the 20/21 Steelers trailed 28-0 vs Browns, those games were blowouts at some point, in that case, 11 points will be a blowout.
I'm genuinely curious as to the need to change the thumbnail and sometimes title of the video between 1-2 hours after posting. This isn't the only channel that does it but when you're like me and find videos to watch later after work, it's confusing to see different thumbnails and titles. 🤷♂️😂
it's normally the result of either experimenting to see what audiences respond better to or looking to make the title/thumbnail more engaging to improve the video's performance
The 2004 Yankees DID NOT reach the World Series. I'm pretty sure every Red Sox or Yankees fan can tell you that. You could be forgiven for thinking that the Yankees must have reached the World Series and faced the St. Louis Cardinals.
