I hope our NFF will act smart by obtaining the flight voice recording between the pilot and the Libyan airport personnel #nigeriafootballfederation. This is very crucial in their defense.
So what would have happened if they did not have enough fuel? The Libyan authorities are willing to jeopardize the lives of the pilots, players, and officials on board the plane to give them an advantage over a game? This is absolutely disturbing. The only thing for CAF to do is ban Libya from the tournament. I hope NFF will also report this matter to Fifa.
What they did was simply to terrorize the players expecting them to lose focus and lose the game. Libyan teams should be banned from every CAF competition for at least one full year to serve as a deterrence.
Oseni, thanks for bringing this matter up. I was shocked to read how some Nigerians on Facebook were in support of the Libya. I had to ask a Nigerian on Facebook. I think he had an Igbo name. I asked him if he has so much gripes about Nigeria to the point of calling Nigeria a zoo country. I asked this fool why he doesn't renounce his Nigerian citizenship and migrate to another country of his choice. I can't fathom an American, supporting an injustice that's against American football players. No matter how bad the situation is in Nigeria. It's the ultimate sellout to support Libya over your own country. I was even asking this Nigeria guy to go research the history of what goes on in some Arab countries. A dark skin Saudi Arabian citizen is treated as a second class citizen in Saudi Arabia. The Arabs that brought Islam to Africa and also came to trade ended up enslaving Africans, especially Nigerians. Nigerians supporting Libya, it's okay and you should renounce your Nigerian citizenship. If Nigeria is a zoo country to you, then leave Nigeria. I left Nigeria 49 years ago, there so many things wrong with what's going on in Nigeria. But no way on earth would l disrespect Nigeria and support another country over Nigeria. Especially with the way the players and officials were treated in Libya. They were held as hostage in Libya. The Nigerian government has to put a stop to how Nigerians are treated, especially by an African country. America will never tolerate such nonsense.
In Nigeria u treat IGBO MAN as a second class, denying PO the chance of bein the president of Nigeria bcoz he is an IGBO MAN and expect to be treated as a FIRST CLASS in another country. U are deluded Bro
@@ogbujudeemeka5308so your Igbo brothers were not among the players treated harshly in Libya. It’s obvious that you are the delusional idiot here bro because you are still struggling with the past. Your point is senseless. Am sorry
@@ogbujudeemeka5308 Your words reflect ignorance and a lack of understanding. I am Yoruba, and I supported Peter Obi from start to finish during the election, as did my family members and friends-all of whom are Yoruba. Comments like yours are doing more harm to Peter Obi’s cause because they discourage support from other tribes. This is about unity and love for all Nigerians. Look at our Super Eagles team-it’s made up of players from different tribes, working together. Hatred for other tribes won’t help Peter Obi win. He needs the support of people from all over Nigeria, as no single tribe has enough numbers on its own. The constitution requires votes from other states for a president to be elected. Spreading hate because of an election loss only makes you bitter and divisive. It’s truly unfortunate to see such negativity.
@ogbujudeemeka5308 You have some truth to what you're articulating. But is that enough reason not to support your team and to support Libya over Nigeria? Is that also enough reasons to refer to Nigeria as a zoo country? If that's so, then why the hell are you still in Nigeria and not renouncing your citizenship? Why are you still employed in Nigeria. And have you not demanded the likes of Simon Ekpa to come back to the South East and do the fighting with you? There's so much injustice against Igbos in Nigeria. But that's enough reason to support Libya, and you realize there are Igbo players on the Nigerian team? And what exactly have you done for your community? Since the past 4 years, I have been paying for the tuition of 3 Nigerian ladies and an 8yo. Two of the ladies and child are Igbos. The other lady is from Gogi state. Two ladies graduated two years ago. My good friend just graduated from UniNsukka, last month with a degree in Pharmacy. I have been paying for the tuition of her daughter to attend a private school in Nsukka- Graceland school. I'm not sharing this to brag. I am in a position to help, and that's what l am doing. She's Igbo, and l am Urhobo. So don't be coming here betraying Nigeria and not helping fellow Igbos. You call Nigeria a zoo country and still live in that same country. So why doesn't that also makes you a zoo animal?
To my Nigerian friends . I am from Libya and I apologise for this action . It is sad because Libya used to be one of the best countries in Africa and even tried to unify the whole continent one day
Why are the Libyan government and the Libyan football federation tarnishing Libya's reputation? Actions like this will only create resentment from other Africans towards Libyans.
Welcome back home...y'all are great...we're proud of you. Real men stand up for what's right. CAF must learn and punish Libya. Also, CAF needs to introduce VAR to matches. They make Africans look bad.
Nigeria is been ridiculed, humiliated, and brought so low because of it's leaders. Someone that stole power , how can he be respected outside when he is not respected at home.
Please try to separate politics from this inhumane act!!! Nigeria is being ridiculed, humiliated & brought so low because of both her citizens & rulers. You are the ones that go to places like Libya like refugees to become house girls & boys, or become a nuisance in such an unstable c😢😢ountry and shout blue murder in a country of Arabs that are known to be racist & heartless, yet you still troop into such country with no dignity left in you (all in the name that you want to cross these Arab countries to go to obodo oyinbo) and you expect them to respect you when dem don see una finish.

The Libyans were a disgrace to African football, they should cover their faces in shame. We are glad our boys are back safely. However, there is always room for improvement for the NFA. Personally. I would suggest the NFA should investigate thoroughly what exactly was the experience of the Libyans in Nigeria ? What exactly would have prompted such act of vengeance from the Libyans ? They were allegedly delayed in the arrival lounge for hours , was there an apology from the NFA ? Why was their flight diverted from Uyo to PH ? this is what caused the inconvenient road trip for the Libyans. All these inconveniences are no big deal to us , but a foreigner will see it differently. I would suggest the NFA should assign a team with high standards to personally ensure foreign teams that are in Nigeria for a match should always get 1st Class treatment, knowing fully well that our footballers are going to play a return match in their guest's nation. Hopefully this measure would avoid such overreaction like this issue from foreign nations in the future. I come in peace !!!
What the Libyans did was extremely dangerous! Our players and management team could have lost their lives in a plane crash if the aircraft had run out of fuel before reaching the next airport. This is completely unacceptable, and Libya should face serious sanctions, including being barred from hosting any matches for an extended period.
Libya is country being run by militias whether recognized by UN or not. The Libyan football federation has proven the character of these people. This is disgusting.

When this story broke, Reuben Abati sat there. He told the Super Eagles captain Williams Troost-Ekong and the rest of the lads to still go ahead and play the game (he said to beat Libya 2-0, 5-0, etc...) not minding the hostage-like situation our boys and officials were subjected to. One has no choice but to wonder what message he was trying to convey? His careless talk and lack of understanding of the whole matter call into question his integrity and ability to run his mouth on sporting matters.
