The Porsche 550 RS Spyder was a successful racing car and an icon of the German automotive world. Wanting to build the perfect sportscar, in the early 1950s the Porsche engineers fashioned a body in the style of an aircraft - aerodynamic and ultra-light.

James Dean died on Highway CA-46 near Cholame, California NOT "Route 466." There is a memorial marker near the crash site.

The V/O on the video of the Porsche 550 Spyder states twice that the time that Dean had his accident was 5:59pm? PST in fact the accident was at 5:45pm PST.

It was the other cars fault for left turning in front of the Dean car, but it was not the best decision to drive an aluminum race car on regular highways.

I love the car, but it is too small to drive in today's world. My Corvette is small enough.

It was too small even in the 1950s, hence why James Dean was killed in it.
