The fact that I was mentioned around 56:10 is insanely awesome. I've been a huge Pixel Game Squad fan for years now and hearing that Riff has seen one of my videos and actually remembered it is awesome. I like to try and talk about stuff going on RU-vid that others do not like to sometimes. I was a collector but now I focus more on the gaming itself with plans to maybe go back to collecting down the road.
1:40:00 you can hear the emotion in Ricky's voice. Such a great moment! And speaking about the shorts, I think you have to be really gifted to get the story across in 1 minute. I try to watch shorts but when you come across a good short and the they say subscribe for part 2.
For the mascot, yes, Mickey is iconic, but, I would say that if you see Mario on something, you’d gravitate towards it, and if Mickey was on something, you would walk away having seen Mickey

I love the old games and they paved the way for some of the new games today. But games like Ori, Sea of Stars, Cuphead, Shovel Knight, etc. would never have been possible with the restrictions of those older, still loved, machines, and yet they take what we love from games of old and bring us back to that nostalgia but with creature comforts and ways of making them into timeless classics for today.
I worked at Blockbuster and late fees were a huge money maker... At one point there was a lawsuit that caused them to change the drop off time to Noon. Oh those days... I would always remove late fees if you were nice about it. It paid to be nice.

I hate the shorts... too easy for it to become such a time sink. Try as I might, they keep popping up and sucking me in. I truly enjoy the long form content like the Pixel Plus podcast and other creators that have essay style videos.
