my piggies start pop corning as soon as I dip the dustpan and brush into the cage because they know it means a fresher cage and their morning lot of fresh hay! I only have two of them so dustpan and brush is very manageable for me.
He could post a weekly cage cleaning video that is shown in real time and I would watch it while sitting on my bed telling myself I will get up and clean my cage😂
I just adopted 2 baby piggies a week ago from a local animal shelter. I never realalized how much they pooped. Lol. Watching your videos really taught me alot. Thank you. I am starting to use fleece and I am spot cleaning 2 times a day. I plan on buying from your website soon. Any suggestions for me on getting them to warm up to me more? Someone tell me how to use a shopvac and not scare the living daylights out of my pigs bc the one i want is VERY LOUD ( i think rated louder than this one he is using) and my little vacuum scares them half to death.
Is there a reason you throw away all that fresh hay? As long as my hay is still in a pile, the top stuff is dry and clean. I just pile up all the dry stuff and clean around it. When I do a full cage cleaning I toss everything, but I don't give a bunch of hay the day before so I waste very little.
I can totally relate to a piggy wanting to do reconstruction like Toby! Mine love to push houses around. I just got a pawchie house for Christmas thinking it would be too heavy to move but one figured out that she can move it! I swear it’s in a new position every day!😂😂also gotta love Billy’s popcorn!!

All of my single males use to have cage mates but due to their aggressive behaviors, they had to be split up. Two of my males (Billy and Ollie) will be bonded soon and Winston (neutered male) will be bonded with my female herd! Hoping to get my piggies some friends instead of bar buddies although they can live just as happy that way 💛
I have a guinea pig called Oreo , and it’s just him he very happy as one as I give lots of attention and company. But he very messy he chucks his everywhere 😂❤
Hi I was wondering what is the name of your vacuum cleaner? I have three four month old guinea pigs, they are still small little babies, but they are very messy :) I use to have them in a large pet shop size cage, but now they are in a large C&C cage. I like to clean their cage first thing in the morning and I think the idea of a vacuum for cleaning the cage is a awesome idea 😊 because since they are in a much larger C&C cage, it takes me longer to clean with a small had broom. Oh one other question, will the noise of the vacuum scare my guinea pigs?

I love how you show that it doesnt have to be hard, just a little planning, investments in good products and you are off and running! I love seeing them so happy when things are clean and fresh. So satisfying! I was wondering is it safe or wise to swap out their hides or toys that arent chewed up or soiled, they can sort of take turns?
I use an old vacuum to spot clean my boys' cage and it's an absolute lifesaver. Whenever my sister does spot cleanings she uses a little scoop like for baking and stuff, but I've found that's more helpful for after doing a cleaning and there's a very small area that was missed. They also like to push around their hay rack so I don't even bother trying to put it on the sides anymore. Using a regular vacuum hose with the extensions on it also saves me from pulling anything in my back (again). They're currently in a raised 5x2 but I wish I could give them more room.
I use a hand vac or take the top layer of fleece out and shake it into the trash. The shop vac always sucks up the fleece. And I currently cant get it in my pig room without having to lift it over cages. The current way i have the room set up gives me a narrow door way

Hiya I’m doing some piggie research, I was just wondering if the blankets are just normal blankets/fleece or special Guinea pig safe blankets ? I’m really interested in this instead of sawdust, thank you
Im not an expert but heres what I know (i only have a 2 by 4 c&c cage so i just have bathmats since they take up the space fine!) You can buy pre made ‘liners’ made from the fleece fabric. Basically the way it works is that the fleece is ‘wicked’ so that liquid can pass through them and into an absorbent layer underneath (such as towels!) You can do it yourself with just some regular old fleece (it should be wicked first) and some towels underneath. (Or just buy pre made liners ^^) Idk if i explained very well 😭but you can find a lot of info online about the wicking process/fleece bedding in general as well! ^^ (sometimes you can buy pre wicked fleece as well)
How often do you change out the litter area? I recently started using the litter area for their hay with my piggies so i'm just curious for comparison and guidance.
I just NEED to invest in a large shop vac 😅 I got a small one and even after picking up most of the mess by hand it gets clogged in seriously like 2 minutes and it’s almost impossible to unclog
I don't have any guinea pigs my self I did when I was a child also when my kids were your. I absolutely live Ollie he is special. I'd love some of your stickers I possible. I follow you as often as I can. You are a very special person. Not many people would be a third of what you do rescuing the guide pigs. Everyone is special in there own way. Keep up the good work. X

Hi, I don’t know if you will see this, but do you have a tip for what to use under the hay that’s not a bathroom mat since my pigs drag on it and try to eat it.
I don’t think people realize how much work you do! Where do you get all your energy lol. I have THREE piggies, in 2 separate cages. And it’s SO much cleaning. You do all that PLUS make your own inventory for your own business ON TOP of you general daily life and home maintenance. Like wow. You’re a superhero. You literally never have a day off! ❤❤
@The Pig Room Backstory: I grew up with single boars as a kid, while my older sisters had bonded sows. In my experience, our single boars were always braver/more social with humans/better with kids/more patient, which is vital for our ASD toddler. I don't want only JUST one; BUT - my husband doesn't want to end up with two enclosures. It seems alarmingly common that "bonded" pairs of board end up turning on each other, and I really can't do two appropriate enclosures (planning 2*5). But I also recall sows being more temperamental, where I'm going for "Potato". Advice?!
