In part 2 of this 2018 Civic series Kelly uses a microfiber pad to get rid of sinkage - the dull, fuzzy looking factory paint texture found on the mirror cover. You'll be blown away by the 50/50 reveal and just how much shine and gloss is brought out in such a short amount of time.

Did you say the side mirror has a "factory defect called sinkage" Sinkae you will see in a area that has been repainted but not factory. Which in this case, this car as definitely been repainted. You can't get sinkage out with just by polishing it out. If it's superficial at vest ypu need to knock it down with 1500 gritt. Of its "deep" then ypu will need to repaint.

God that polisher is so neat. Seems so quiet and easy to maneuver. Can I put way bigger batteries on it or does it make it unnecessarily difficult to handle the machine?

Yes you can. Machine is delivery with 2,5 Ah batteries but it possible to purchase 4,0 and 6,0 Ah batteries which will last longer but they are bigger and heavier of course.

@@MrJanko13 right, I know you CAN, the question is if you SHOULD. it may make the machine way off balance, making it handle worse than necessary.

In my experience (Jay B here) this tool works just great as it comes. Nice to see vids like that. I have the same Pixie machine, use the same Lake microfibre pads and use same technic. And what is funny I also like to use cheap Ali lamp as Kelly although we both have normal day light lamps as Scangrip. Greeting from polishing trainer from Slovakia :-)

Hi Eddie, we get asked this a lot and the answer is 'several'. We purposely switch between brands because we know that detailers out there all tend to have their favorites, and LC pads are made to get the best from whatever compound, polish or tool you're using :)

No. You're looking at correcting as little as possible and as much as necessary. Clear coat isn't infinite.

As you can see, sinkage can be removed by polishing alone which means it's quite an accessible procedure. Sanding will remove it too, but it's primarily a process used for orange peel removal, and it's just not something that everybody is comfortable with doing.
